Thank you so much for the site provided. The best part of your video is that you keep your camera focus and never leave the viewing area away from the camera or get the picture so blurry that you cannot visualize what it's being done. Thank you for being so detailed and precise. It is great when you can follow a project step by step till the end. Thanks for your patience in this regard.

Thank you so much for making it so learning friendly. My question is I know you say make it as long as you want but it would help me if i had a guide. I am not good at guessing. How many rows did you do for each section? from there i can see what i need. I have been looking for a long mitten. so many of them only go to the wrist. thank you so very much.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a comment as well as watch. 🙏 Your comments are very kind. I will look in my notes for the measurements but just in case, something I do is place the loom over my hand. It helps me figure out how long or short I want something. I hope that makes sense and I can’t wait to see your mitten! 🧤 Thanks again for being here! 💖💙🩵💚💜🩷

I see you said do them was done with six pegs from beginning, if I'm using a smaller loom how do I figure out where to do the thumb? Am making for next Christmas an Santa Fund free for children. Love your pattern I saw some patterns very difficult, moving a bunch of the loops and other difficult things. Love your calming voice.

I love this tutorial. THANK YOU! It was so easy to follow. I wanted to make a pair for my adult son, as the pair I made was way to narrow for his hands. I started a new pair on the next size up loom, however, I realized shortly on that it would be way too big. What do I do to make a bigger size? Is it the yarn I’m using? Help!!! :)
@GinaLay5 жыл бұрын
Karen Biega Hello! Thank you for your kind words. What yarn are you using?
@evylnne7 жыл бұрын
what size is the loom you are using. I have the Boye set. I used the smallest one in my set which is 24 pegs and it seems to be just a bit too big. Is there a slightly smaller loom you can recommend???

Hello Evin Conyer ! This is a 24 peg loom with 1/2 inch between pegs. I hope that helps! :-)

Thanks Sandra😊

@davidhuynh56005 жыл бұрын
I made this for my husband *yes I'm on my son's youtube. I will say the thumb is not wide enough for his hand and he is skinny. So pretty much this is a good mitten but you really need to make it by trying it on the person who will wear it like you would clothes.For the palm of the hand before you get to the thumb I made 18 rows. Next, for the thumb itself, I would say you can possibly line the persons thumb up against the pegs on your loom and multiply number of pegs by 3 to get how many pegs to stitch across by. For the length of the thumb as far as how many stitches you should make for me as a woman I made 40 rows and then checked by putting my thumb inside. Again you will have to check out the width and length of the thumb or you will be making this mitten for nothing. Then for the rest of the way up the hand. I lost count but definatly more then 20 rows. I would say 4 times around makes about an inch.

I wanted to know if you can make a mitten with the thumb not covered in the mitten . I have a young grandson who will not wear mittens because he sucks his thumb and will not wear mittens but right now where they live its -7 degrees. Was wondering if you could help me how to make a mitten that the thumb slips over or maybe Velcro or a button.
@GinaLay6 жыл бұрын
Hello sascha w ! Yes you can knit one without the thumb. I have a video on how to Loom Knit a child’s mitten. I would suggest following the child’s mitten and omitting the thumb part by wrapping back skipping those thumb pegs. Please feel free to message me on my Facebook page and I can help you in more detail with pictures and such. 🙂 Thanks for messaging me.

ttttkk2 Try pushing the stitches on the pegs up further before you knit off. That often helps and also make sure you are wrapping the pegs too tight. 🙂

how many rows did you do between the cuff and the thumb?
@GinaLay6 жыл бұрын
Hello Becca M! I didn’t count my exact rows because everyone is different so I used my own thumb as a judge for what I needed. I just stick my thumb into the loom as I am knitting the thumb to get an idea. I hope that makes sense. 🙂

Could you please give us number of rows you did to achieve cuff, thumb etc. then if we need to adjust our row count we could. For me it is harder to measure in inches.
@GinaLay5 жыл бұрын
Judy Richardson These measurements are for a smaller hand. I knitted 10 rows for the cuff, seven for the section from cuff to thumb, 11 for the thumb and 10 rows for the rest of the mitten. I hope this helps. 🙂
@ladyj5120095 жыл бұрын
Gina Lay yes this helps. This was for your hand size correct ? Also is the thumb knitted any different for left thumb or right thumb? As in some films one goes in left direction and one thumb is knitted in opposite direction
@GinaLay5 жыл бұрын
Correct, my hands are on the smaller size, so please adjust accordingly. 🙂 Thumbs are knitted the same for both.
