I broke 90 (legit, no mulligans) for the first time recently. Just from playing within my abilities and not compounding mistakes. Your videos really do help show how it can be done.

10:37 has got to be a channel highlight for sure. Not just a round highlight. That's one of those putts that if a pro golfer on tour made it, it'll end up on a highlight reel. Top 10 putts of the tournament, or of a person's career. That was a nasty break, and even a change in terrain. Putting it off the green to come back on isn't easy. Great putt!

Adam I broke 90 recently and I am always working on my swing. However looking at your distances mine aren't that far off yours. That inspires me quite a bit. Keep up the videos. and cherish your golf with your Dad. Days like that are very precious.

This choose-your-own-tee business would make golf so much more enjoyable for many amateur golfers over here in the UK, where (as far as I’m aware) it’s quite unthinkable for a male over the age of about 16 to play off forward tees. I think about my father-in-law, who finds long carry tee shots so daunting that he invariably duffs them, making the rest of the hole so much harder. How would any of us get on if our second shot had to be hacked out of the crap? The Playa-In-Chief did a video recently about “lying zero” - definitely going to introduce that to my FIL. If he could tee off from a bit nearer the hole too, I reckon he’d have a much nicer time of it. But sadly for some reason we have to be too macho about it here. 💪🏼

I started watching your videos 2 months ago and took your advice about being clean inside 100 yards to heart and finally broke 80! I hit the ball really well but it was the putting that saved me a lot because I took your advice and really put work into that part of my game (chipping too). Thanks for the advice! I’m hoping to break single digit handicap at the end of next summer. Thank you for your videos, advice and positive attitude!

Sorry to hear. Almost same timing for me. My brothers and I get together and play on his birthday every year. Fortunately we did play loads of golf when he was alive, and we now spend most of our rounds together impersonating his jibes and heckles - he was merciless, it was more like playing cricket than golf, the sledging was constant!

I enjoyed watching this video. Seeing your dad with you is great. And you keep it real as we see all the shots, not only the good ones. Thanks for posting. Your videos have given me some good things to think about and I feel this has helped me improve my own game. I have learned to not be to hard on myself and accept when bad shots come along.

Agree with some of the earlier comments. I spent 5 years watching YT swing tutorials and trying to implement mechanical changes at the range. Turns out it was more important to think about WTF I was doing on the course for once.

Love your videos mate, makes you enjoy golf no matter what level. I'm a member at a club with a very slow game pace, simply because the older fellas that can't hit far are too up themselves that they still play off the whites (in australian terms)

Good stuff Adam. If I go strictly off most KZfaq golfers, I’m 100 yds short (on a good day) of the 330 yd driving average. Nice to see real golf from someone that has more realistic distances

@@NotAScratchGolfer I’ve noticed this a lot too with other people 😂. I’m 34 and play around 12 HDC and usually only drive 235-240 (ish). Sure I’ve hit a 290 yard drive before but it was just luck. Incidentally I can somehow hit my 7 wood about 210-215 all day every day so usually thats my out of the box club on shorter par 4s and tight par 5s. Great video !

playing from the right tees cannot be understated. I was paired with a group of three, I tell them that i'd prefer to play the front tees. They mocked me and told me they are for girls, asked if i had forgot my tampon, nonsense like that. Mind you these guys were 30+hc, and had no business playing from the tips. I just went along with it and I predictably had a pretty miserable round. still outscored the rest of the group though. Seems like some people are more concerned with the size of their bollocks than actually enjoying themselves out there. I try to play with people I know or ask to play solo now.

Any specific reason why your dad is only playing irons? He hits the 3i really well. He should have an easy time hitting a hybrid or a 5W and would gain some distance!

I played Morgan creek and shot a an 85 (my personal best) I then Invited my boss and 2 friends I only golfed with once to a round at kings links and shot 120. Worst round of golf I have ever played in my life. For me, this is the hardest course in the lower mainland.

Have your dad try a 5 wood and 5 hybrid instead of those long irons. Amateurs especially with low swing speeds are hurting themselves playing anything longer than a 6 iron
