How to lower a crotch seam. This is an alteration that I have thought about doing for years! literally! I read a fashion article years ago and the guy being interviewed said you can't change the rise of a garment. Nothing motivates me more than being told I can't do something. So, here I am doing what I read couldn't be done. After I recorded the video, I went and looked up this topic and found several people who have done videos on this alteration. I purposely don't look up the topic I'm working on because I don't want my method of doing something to be influenced by what I see other people doing.

I just bought 2 pair of pants that have similar material and the same waistband as that jumpsuit. I was thinking about doing this exact same thing! Maybe it doesn't work on some pants, but for this style it seems like a no brainer. I'm often between sizes and doing this to the crotch is quicker and easier than adjusting a waistband to add darts, removing extra material throughout the leg, etc. Thanks so much for the video!

I am thinking, adding the gusset in navy might be a better choice as that crotch hardly now has a curve.

This is great info! I have a pair of pink cargo pants that I made from hacking a pattern and self drafting pockets. I did the initial fittings using sheets and everything seemed to work. The final product turned out ok except for the tight crotch and it's too loose in the waist. The waist I can fix but I wasn't sure about the crotch. I'll defiantly give this a try!

Before you get started on this.... I didn't think this part through before I made the video. I'm thinking, this alteration may not work. I'm thinking, if the legs of your pants are snug, lowering the crotch is essentially raising the legs of the pants higher on your legs.

@@AngelaWoolsey that's a good point. I've also heard a lot of scooping can affect the inseam length. Fortunately I have side seams to play with and since these pants are already on the fail list I'm willing to give it a go. Thanks for the tip!

I found a really cute clown romper in a kid’s size for halloween… I would love to open them up, lower the crotch (but I will need to do it a LOT longer than in this video 😅) and wear it for halloween 🥺 this makes me hopeful for sure! Thanks for the info!!! 💞💞💞 My plan is to go back, take a look at the seam first, then make a decision before buying 💭

Thank you! Hey are you still doing Keto? After a couple of surgeries we got back on Keto, but then switched to Carnivore. Really enjoying this much more. If we feel like we need something extra we might have a keto day. I am down 41 pounds since January. Not sure about hubby, he has lost a lot. I am still huge but one day I won’t be!

Not currently. I tried to go carnivore, but it's just so expensive. This channel doesn't make much money right now. I've decided to do a dirty carnivore or ketovore because I love hot peppers, spices and fermented foods. lol

@@AngelaWoolsey I finally after 100 days carnivore cleaned out all the stuff we are not supposed to be eating. We have done beef, butter bacon and eggs. Some pepper Jack cheese. My husband hits the olive jar often. I also will eat some sardines. I have also made ice cream with heavy cream and So Delicious unsweetened coconut milk. I don’t veggies that have gone bad in the fridge because we got tied of them. We don’t go through fast food drive through or eat out so I think we might have begun to save money because we seem not to be all that hungry anymore. Kinda weird. The appetite changed just within the last week. Often we each eat just a pound of ground beef a day.

The bulk of my diet is Eggs (we have our own chickens), meat, butter, cheese and some fermented foods. I did get off track because there is some family crisis stuff going on and it's hard to stay focused especially when there is so much time in the car. I don't go to fast food at all.@@RhodeToPrepping

Unfortunately, she's not comfortable being on camera. I did lower the crotch on a pair of my own jeans and learned something new. I might make a video on that.
