Hi Guys I have a 07.5 Big horn 3500 4X4 6.7 I Used the shackles you showed. Ya don't much drop cuz you only drop the back. and you twist the axle forward on the radius. You change the pinion angle. U-joints don't like to be at different angles. If you have secondary's it get compounded. The rear of the secondary's hit first twisting it up. All that stuff likes to stay square with the wheel travel. Worse yet the slip yoke is in the Transfer case. All that motion ends up at the Yoke. SWB (1pc driveshaft no center barring) Here's What I'm thinking. Drop the main pack to two leaf's. Move the removed two to the secondary's and put the factory shackles back in. Use the blocks to close the gap of the helpers to their contact points to stop spring wrap and take up U-bolt length. The up side, you put the spline deeper in the case and reduce shaft angle. If they get out of balance they tare stuff up.

Off topic, but what vehicle is your daily driver?

Can confirm you do not need to keep that plastic centering thing. The 2 bolts that keep the spring pack together center the u-bolt plate just fine, and if that's centered then the axle is also. Think about it

hey Greg i know this is a old video and a great one at that just today doing my reverse level on my 04. you said in the video you lowered the front of your race truck 2" question... did you cut the factory coil? did you use 2500 v8 or v10 springs? or did you somehow find a aftermarket company that actually, makes them? or worst are there custom you had made? my overall goal is 2"drop front and 4" rear . long story short i want my 04 to sit EXACTLY like your race truck. eventually I'm going to get traction bars like you run. so being I'm on budget and not a big one lol.... after the reverse level what would your idea on getting, my 04 Cummins to sit exactly or damn near like your race truck.... it sits absolutely perfect! i love is stance. what size wheels and tires are you running on the race truck? do you have a set to drive it on the street and then change and drive another set at the strip? thanks for your help the tires i want to eventually get are nitto 420s as they are supposed to be really great to drive everyday and get decent traction at the strip. and while i don't know what kinda wheels yet i have decided 20x10 wheels of some sort. and running 305/50/20. so when lowering the truck i keep that in mind so they can fit and not rub at all while turning.

I also have a 4th gen mega cab 3500. I havent done this yet but I will be. Should I take the overload out and put airbags in to find that "perfect" level, or do the same way in the video, add airbags and if I dont achieve my "perfect" level buy those drop shackles? Air bags are going in no matter what.

Any advice for doing this to a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins? Getting that tailgate height down will make using the truck as a truck so much easier.

Does the caltracs help with axel wrap as good as trac bars? I am trying to stay as incognito as I can while trying to achieve 1000ish HP. I am researching now to make a purchase soon, so if you got an affiliate link it might pay off. 2006 ram 2500 quad cab 2wd.

let me start out by saying, i love the videos and the trucks, keep them coming! but I've put the 2in drop shackles on my 01 cummins 2wd, and it came out great. I'm not one to nit pick any videos, especially yours...but when you were describing how the drop shackles work, you actually described it backwards. if you're putting drop shackles on your truck, it actually moves those 2 holes further away from each other, not closer together. my drop shackles are about 7 inches long, where as the stock are around 5.

what about pinion angles? and with traction bars they have a different swing pitch compared to leaf springs hows that effect pinion angle? just wonder how many pinion bearings and u-joints you guys go through? you have to have driveshift vibrations.

Does this fix to lower the rear of Rams apply to the 3500 dually as we’ll? The squat on my new Ram 4x4 is not enough to level my 5th wheel trailer so it’s riding nose high. I have independent suspension on th fiver so flipping the axles is a no go.

So, what's the benefit of having the rear of the truck lower than the front? I'm curious.

I have ram 2010 2500 6.7 with 3 inch carli suspension. because I tow my 14k fifth wheel I would like to lower it to stock. would recommend cutting the Springs up front? or just get a new ones? What happened to the single cab? Never saw it again.

03-05 has different rear suspension setup. 06-08 is the one you can lower easily
