I dont know why usps gets a bad reputation when dealing with them at the post office. They've always been nice and helpful when I go. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yeah, the post offices that I go to or never this nice and I ship things a lot and they're never this full of things on the inside, normally it's totally bare with a few packaging envelopes that aren't the right size no priority boxes or labels out so you have to ask them and then walking up to the counter, they look like they hate you chewing gum like they can't stand your existence and there NEVER this empty they always have a line of angry people because they've been waiting for 20 minutes because there's only one register open 😅 I wish I could get a post office this nice

@@JubyJub Good question. I would only use an international flat rate box if I knew my stuff was going to weigh more than a few pounds but below 20 lbs. You may want to check the links here for your specific needs: www.usps.com/international/priority-mail-international.htm. I think it's possible to print your customs declaration and print the label online, yet the USPS requires you create and login with an account to do that in order to pay online. Well after getting prices as high as $700+ to ship a 5.5lbs box to the UK from NYC... I now know to repackage it in 2 packages half and half! Amen... God bless America... I truly could take a few rounds trips to the UK for less than ups and FedEx. Smh!!! Thaaaaanks

I wanted to ask, do they show you what kind of boxes they have at the postal office? I have all the other information, but I just don’t know if I can get a box directly from the postal office or if I have to get one myself. Loved the video, it was really helpful.

Usually most post office locations have boxes you can purchase. However, you may have to buy tape there too to seal your box and package. Another option could be to visit another store (Wal-Mart, etc.) and get a box and packing tape there because it might be cheaper that buying it at the post office.

Yes, you can. They will have to weigh the box there to calculate the cost. You could enter the dimensions and weight of your package using the USPS online calculator for an estimate. You will also need to label clearly the send and return address.

You could try “First Class Mail International” in an envelope. I found this on USPS: . “You can ship items up to 15.994 oz” with First Class Mail International.” If it weighs more than that and is less than 4 lbs (pounds), your next option is “First Class Package International Services.” You could use a padded envelope there or buy one cheaper at Walmart or another office supply store. It depends on the size of the box. The USPS does have boxes in their stores you can purchase, however they will not pack them for you or put things in it. You will be responsible for that. You could go to an office supply store like Office Depot or somewhere and buy a larger cardboard box for your needs. It may be cheaper that way.

Hi Loyl. I do not work for the USPS and all comments here are my opinion only. I do not know why you did not receive the package yet in Hong Kong. Maybe it is stuck in customs? Does Hong Kong charge for you to receive packages? For a letter, it will be different. You will need an international stamp for standard envelopes and that should do it. You can use a bubble mailer. They will calculate your shipping cost at the post office.

No need for the from/to label as long as you have the return and recipient address clearly written. They also have an international stamp you can buy for mailing international letters.

Honestly I’m not sure. You have to check with the USPS website and customs costs in Britain. Probably more than $20 I assume but I don’t know as international rates change at times.

I do not know. According to the USPS, the recipient needs to be 21 years old if a signature is required. I cannot find any information about the sender needing to be a certain age.

Great question! I think you can just use an envelope. It depends on the weight and size.

Good question. No, I just had to pay with my credit card when shipping outside of the U.S. You could pay cash too as an option. You do have to write a return address on the form.

Do you have to list everything in the package specifically? For example, I'm trying to send clothing and unopened candy to a friend in Poland, and there are multiple packages of candy. Would I list the name of each package or no?

What about USPS First Class Mail International? Do you recommend using that for smaller items? I noticed you used priority international. Much cheaper it seems to sent first class intl. Wondering your thoughts?

It is cheaper to do First Class Mail International. With priority or flat rate, you get the added benefit of tracking the package though and I think it is covered better.

Hi, is it cheaper to pay for shipping specifically to Canada using first class mail or a flat rate padded envelope? specifically for an item that is less than 4 pounds.

Good question! According to the USPS site, the “first-class package international service” pricing options appear to be cheaper than the flat rate international pricing. See it here 👉www.usps.com/business/prices.htm and click on International Prices with the drop-down arrow. I hope this helps you! I don’t work for the post office, but answering these questions makes me feel that way. 🤣

How far does the tracking go? I've read online that it only gets tracked through the US and once it is in the next country the tracking goes dead. Is that true?

I’m sending a package from the US to the UK and it’s a medium sized box 14x13x8 and weighs around like 10 pounds or so, the rate says $93 or so, is that a reasonable price or can I get a cheaper price elsewhere?

That sounds about right for anything over 4 pounds in weight. You could compare pricing with DHL, UPS, and FedEx. They might be about the same or more expensive though.

Priority Mail Express International but the sender wrote that parcel contain 2phones and a calculator but the parcel actually contains 3phones and 2 calculator on the item description...Will that be a problem?

I’m not sure. That is usually declared for the estimated cost of goods or items in the box. Either way, it is the weight, dimensions, and policies of the international country’s destination that will determine the cost of how much to ship your package. I’m not sure if this helps, but those are my 2 cents anyway. 🙂

I would like to send care package with gifts to friend in Finland maybe less than 10 lbs. I can’t find anywhere online that says what I can send like cookies . Candy , home decor etc. what is cheapest option that includes tracking. And it’s ok if it takes week or so to arrive.
