I think this is great advice for non-fiction, business, self-help, pop culture style writing. I would be horrified to see what this kind of process would do to an author like Hemingway. "The Old Man and the Sea" becomes "How to Catch a Fish Without Really Trying in your Spare Time"

This kind of feedback is more or less book reviews sped up, with often poorer grammar. You read them, take what is useful, ignore what isn’t, and incorporate it to improve your work. Just as with reviews, you can’t let them steer you. That way lies madness.
@droprelease4820
@droprelease4820 7 ай бұрын
Actually historically it has worked for fiction: one of the 1800s most celebrated authors is Charles Dickens, who wrote his fiction in weekly periodicals. Each week he would release a chapter and while he had a story in mind, he would use both the anticipation and the feedback to guide his following chapters. In the modern day, in the comic world, manga artists use a similar weekly model to release their work and in the long term incorporate feedback to mould their art

Now at the age of 42, I am delighted to share that my passive income exceeded $100k for the first time in a single month. This advice is truly valuable, so don't hesitate to take action. Remember, it's not about achieving wealth quickly, but rather about building wealth consistently and persistently.

That’s a good thing. Maybe not for you, but definitely for a content creator. Adjusting your writing to make it more popular, as opposed to making it higher quality, it’s just simply a natural evolution of a content creator. We may not like it, but that’s just simply how it works. If you want something, that’s a little less flashy, you just have to go find new content all the time. It’s the price you pay for being choosy.

Thanks, Ali, great video overview of online writing paths. The concept of FEEDBACK is fascinating. The feedback/feedforward loop is ever-shortening in this techscape. The physicist Nassim Haramein has written the equations that reveal this loop is a fundamental aspect of the space/time Field, and a requirement for all life. I love your speaking speed :)), it's perfect for me! I sometimes watch movies/videos at 1.25x - 1.5x speed to save time, but I don't have to do that with your videos. Your content is always informative and engaging, and I really appreciate the effort you put into your videos. Thanks!

I have read Cole's book the art and business of online writing, it is really a good book, the way he explain the ways and direction for digital writing was amazing, I started writing online by reading his book, and I really enjoying to write no stress no anxiety I just love it.

Thank you for valuable and structured information. I've been a content writer for years, but I feel I need to seriously step up my game. The attention model seems a bit repulsive for me, but being a copywriter who's a non-native speaker is a bit hard - landing good jobs even with a good command of English is not so easy, you just get paid less by default. Still, I'm willing to learn more. Thanks for the book recommendation as well.

Brilliant book recommendation as always Ali. Thank you. This book can help so many more people than the ones who want to be a career writer. Entrepreneurs, marketers, sales, etc. My only concern is, how does AI affect all of this? Where will online writing be in 5 years? Also, off topic, what brand shirt is that? Thanks again!

Anyone can write using AI. Who will stand out, realistically? Those which have a human touch.

Fantastic video, Ali. Thank you so much for such a comprehensive video on this topic. I'm about to launch a podcast for children and would like to create children's books alongside this. I'm wondering if this approach would work for those of us whose target audience are children who may not necessarily be giving feedback on Quora etc?

Nicholas Cole's book is fantastic, so much gold you can also transfer to other business areas not just writing. I've read his ghost writing book too, the beginning treads a lot of the same ground but is well worth persevering with. Great video too Ali. Hope the nomad lifestyle is suiting you! Now when are you letting us know about the bonuses for your new book 😊

Hi Ali, great conclusion of the entire book. But what I’ve seen with online writers these days is they share a lot of tips about writing and then sell those tips in a course or in a book. But I’ve not come across a single writer yet, who writes about everything else other than writing tips and earn money. You can even make an analysis of this, but online writers make more money by selling courses and self publishing.

That is how most of this stuff works. It doesn't matter if its writing, finance, day trading, etc. People hype up what they are doing to sell courses. They don't make most (or any) of their money from the original activity they are teaching you about but instead make it from selling courses that claim to teach you how to do what they do. No one ever stops to consider why someone that is telling you they make tons of money doing something like day trading don't just focus more on that activity instead of spending time selling courses about it. In that example you could argue teaching others to do what they do would actually harm their financial best interests due to added market competition. The truth is they sell courses because the original activity is not that lucrative for most people and they will make more money selling courses.

Yep.I am a professional writer with two degrees, have written for many businesses, and had a successful podcast I wrote. I can tell you right now this gentleman and those like him make money by simply selling the idea of "you can make money too!" to people more than by writing for writing's sake. I have always made crappy money my whole career despite having luck. Yes some jobs will pay well but they can stop after a few weeks or months, writers get laid off frequently, and many companies only have one writer, so full time jobs can be extremely hard to get -- plus it can take a long time to find another contract job after one ends and you might have to do something very low paying in the mean time. Freelancing on Fiverr pays peanuts unless you've been at it for years. People seriously want to hire writers for what works out to like $5 an hour! Most of the writers I know are also either not making that much money a year (random payments here and there) or also have to have a full time job such as teaching at a school OR basically have to spend more of their time making these expensive courses and programs for people to buy and all the time it takes to constantly advertise and market those (by making youtube videos like this). Either way if you want to make money writing you have to be constantly constantly constantly selling yourself. If you don't enjoy that then just write for yourself for fun!
