I think you did a top job mate. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your day. I know that youtube is restrictive of the length of a video and because of that most youtubers don't show everything. I was wondering if your full detail includes the engine bay and/or boot areas of the vehicle or are those add-ons? I am beginning my journey as a mobile detailer and like you said i was way under priced. So now im sitting down and working out my packages and what I'm gonna charge for them. In my past details i always included the boot and engine bays as part of the full detail. (truth be told over here in Australia ppl consider a "Full Detail" to be the biggest most comprehensive package possible encompassing every part of the car including cut and polishing) I will be changing that paradigm as that is so much work that what i am/was charging for that isn't near enough (not to mention how long that process takes). I have been detailing/learning at work (as much as a car smash repair shop can teach and as much as one can learn from youtubers) for the last 17 years and among my peers I'm considered top tier one of the best they've ever seen. I have everything equipment wise needed to work a mobile detailing business except a van (currently using the family car) and i do have a few regular customers that i provide services for. Not enough to go full time yet but as in your video i get 1 or 2 who walk up and ask how much and sometimes they say sweet when can you do mine :D and they sometimes become a regular. I have a lot to learn as i don't have any business knowledge. I know the work side mainly. Sorry so long winded mate just wanted to give bit of background with my question. Thanks again =)

On those seats instead of that magic eraser use your steamer with APC or interior cleaner. I did some grey leather seats yesterday that were trashed. The dirt made the seats look black. I used that super clean 4:1 with my steamer and that dirty just melted off the seats. It was a 4 door truck. When I say I went through towels. Man. My yellow towels were black when I got through. But, the customer said the seats has never looked like that since they got the truck. Hard spots that won’t come off, get your steamer and tap a rag around the end and do exactly what you’re doing with the magic eraser.
@TheDetailingBusiness
@TheDetailingBusiness 2 жыл бұрын
Very good. Yes I do this on occasion. The steamer is a great tool. The magic eraser is great for removing scuff marks like from shoe scuffs on the glove box in this video. Most of the seat grime came up with the apc and a towel. But there were a couple areas that the magic eraser did the trick.

What app are you using for your invoices? I’m Only halfway through the video, but I would’ve done it with a foam cannon, brushes in emblems, a ton of time making sure all the gunk is out of the barrel of the wheel and maybe an extraction if the interior, which would take all day! So it’s nice to see the way other people Detail so I can try new things and get my time down to where I can do more than 1 Vehicle a day.

Love your wrist sir, use a yellow or white round drill brush for the carpet. Also an tornando to blow out hard to reach places. Be careful with mr clean ereasers as it can scratch. Optimize use of your steamers and chemicals as it will prevent damages. See DIY Detail and chemical guys. Get a better dry towel large and small from the rag company for exterior. Avoid close contact with your water gun as you are in the video, you can damage the paint that way. Some areas has hard water, so if using a water gun from most customers homes. You are at risk at blasting hard minerals into the paint. I recommend you get a ik multi spray bottle to make it easier on your wrist. Exterior wash use a good quality wash mit or black and red double sided sponge from DIY Detail. This will help prevent scratches and optimizes use of your soap. Also use a small plastic table to help you wash car mats and dry without bending over to clean and avoid to clean it again while its out to dry on the floor. In event if hot sunny days use a canopy and make shift barrier with your table and tarp to prevent debris from landscapers.

Low ballers are not your competition. Every time I contemplate raising my prices, I feel the same way. Nobody would pay that. But I raise my prices, and my schedule still fills up. But my customer base improves to nicer, cleaner cars. Don’t doubt yourself. I have 15 detailers in my area that charge 1/3 of what I do. They last about a year. I’m booked up til September.
