I improved the handling on the TT-02B buggy by doing two simple things. I moved the front damper in and moved the rear damper out. See for yourself. Enjoy the video! #tamiya #tamiyarc #tt02b

I just did this early this morning. With the factory setting of the bottom shock mount in the middle setting the rear shocks felt soft and the fronts stiff. The bottom shock mounting positions from inner to outer are soft, medium, hard. Moving the rear shock to the outer position and the front shock to the inner position balanced the car and makes it more neutral. If one wants all of the adjustments then by all means upgrade the shock but if you are simply trying to balance the front and rear this works great! It solved my problem that I couldn’t wrap my head around. Thanks for the tip

It's called a roll center adjustment. Copied and used just now on my brand new tt02b. Worked well.

Good idea! Softening the front is naturally the way to go. If you can get some softer Springs, or even longer Dampers (even 5 or 10mm longer would do), it would be even better planted!

We think alike! I put up an update video a couple days ago. I bought a set of springs and turnbuckles. I want to stiffen up the back more and put some camber/toe on the wheels. I will keep updating this series. Thanks for watching! 👍

My pleasure! In these days of radically INFLATED RC pricing and extremely limited stock.... One of the very few Buggies even available - is the TT-02B!! So that's one of my future projects. I'm an Old Fart... Raced Buggies for Team Associated and Team OFNA, back in the 80's and 90's. I know that the TT-02B is a FLAWED Buggy, out of the box... But there's SO much available for them! I just have to accept the challenge of making it into something GOOD. Better Suspension, better Drive. Oil Filled Gear Diffs, actual TIGHT Steering and MORE Suspension Travel for starters. ..... I'm looking for ideas everywhere because someone is likely to come up with something that I never thought of!! 😉 SO thank you for helping me on my Idea Train!

I'm skeptical that the rear adjustment down is the right move, changing the damper hole simply changes the ride height, towards the wheel makes the car lower and vice versa. now the car is slanting towards the rear, this seems bad on full throttle as it will make it easier to lift the front wheel off the ground. perhaps that you just need more ground clearance at the front and rear should really match the front setting to keep the normal geometry of slanting towards the front. TT-02B ground clearance is pretty terrible for a buggy and should be at maximum ride height front and rear for rough off road like this track.

Thanks for watching my video. Adjusting the shock angle changes the fulcrum of the wheel in relation to the suspension arm pivot point. The closer the fulcrum is to the wheel, the less leverage it has against the shock, essentially making it stiffer. It also changes the progressiveness of the springs. This video can explain it a lot better than I can: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d6p7hrCI29y6kac.html I changed springs, preloads and added turnbuckles after this video. Take a look at the net effects. I think I have the buggy at a good point at the moment. I'm going to try a brushless setup in an upcoming video. It's all a learning experience for me as well. I'm just experimenting as I go.
