This is a wonderful chain. What powder was sprinkled on before heating? Was it a powdered solder? What kept the links from fusing or soldering to each other? Brilliant process video. Thanks!

It’s borax powder. To get rid of impurities. Solder is 22k and it melts at an lower temperature causing it to fuse before melting the pure links.

Wow, so impressive! Thanks for the response. I understand the 22k solder melts and closes each link, but what prevents the solder from making the links stick to each other?

Hi very nice video. What is the solution/water which you are using to clean the chain at the end of the video? Like you were boiling the chain at 22:52 minute.
