Great job making your antenna! I wish there were more videos like this, rather than other guys trying to sell commercial versions of the same thing.

Thank you for the comment , make it easy on yourself and use some square tubing for the boom. Amazon has some yard sign stakes that would work. I'll post on the video for you. 73

Got to love the directional antenna. I've busted so many pile-ups on 10, 15, and 20 meters with the Mosley. Making a 2 meter yagi looks like a fun project. Maybe even do some fox hunting, or add a 73cm component and do satellite work. Man, you insoired me to get creative. Maybe I'll do a tutorial on antenna modeling software.

Chris I have a ta33 and even at 10' testing it was amazing. I have never had a pileup on 2m until using this antenna on a POTA. This is a fun antenna to make use square tubing to mak it easier, thanks for the comment and for taking the time to watch!

Did you manage to reuse the arrows for anything? Perhaps you can mount them into a tube so the outside conducts. Is there an explanation as to why the 1st director is so close to the driven element? Thanks

Chuck! Awesome antenna, and you are a bad influence, lol. I made one from aluminium rod I picked up at Ace and some 3D printed parts. I used a ganna match I copied from somewhere. Yours and Adams are way slicker! You guys are keeping my local harware store in business. Keep making these videos; they keep me inspired. Good to see you 73 de Bill. ps - what pole is that, and how far up is it?

So on 146.520 did you spin yagi around to vertical? Also what was best distance on fm vertical and ssb horizontal? Thanks!!!
@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures
@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
Mimi Heaven , Yes For FM vertical and SSB horizontal, the antenna covers both parts of the band with swr at 147.0 1.0:1 to 1.3:1 at 144.0. The day I test I had contacts up to 100 miles with the antenna at about 10' or less most of the time. I didn't have a lot of time I had already finished a POTA that morning and needed to packed up and head home. I was also at 6000' elevation and that doesn't hurt any Lol. I will have a second video out soon with a better look at how it was constructed and materials used. Thanks for the comment and for watching.

Sam if you build it to the dimensions I posted below and use the same materials it should be very close I used the link I posted and didn't change anything and it was good. It is always best to check the swr though maybe get the best swr meter you can afford you will always use it later. 73
