If you are willing to put your life on the line for a country, yes you deserve citizenship. Look at the fact that so many native- born citizens don't want to step up to defend their own, then how many immigrants are granted citizenship without doing anything to serve their new Home.

As much as it pains me to say it - but the French have the concept of "French by spilled blood" - whereby if you fight for France and are injured - you are automatically granted french citizenship.

Ur Mom the original settlers of the British Isles were the Celts. The majority of British people today are directly descended from these original settlers who arrived in Britain 7000-8000 years ago via a land bridge. It is likely they were here even before that as the figure 8000 years ago comes from simple tools found in multiple dig sites across Britain. Even in England a country considered to be Germanic, the majority of the genetic markers in the English peoples DNA is actually from these original settlers only around a third of the English DNA is from the Anglo Saxons the normans and the Vikings had absolutely no impact on the genetic make up of the English. In other words the British have been in Britain longer than the Japanese have been in Japan and even longer by some 5000 years than the Maori have been in New Zealand they are entirely native to the British isles and there genetic make up is completely unique and not replicated in any other ethnic group even among similar groups such as other Europeans.

@wearealltubes lots of modern "scientific" experiments regarding genialogy, sexuality, and psychology are complete bunk with political motivations. You'll often find the reason they're conducted is because some university student or professor wants to make a point and they'll ignore scientific process to do so. For example, check out the scientific paper by googling "what do maggots and homosexual public displays of affection have in common?" to see how quickly a study gets scrapped when it doesn't give the answers they want.

I don't know if it's the food they eat everyday but if you ever go to sandhurst the Gurkhas have a curry tent. It's delicious.

Served with them for a while at 36 Engr Regt, the food was good, although some things took a bit to get used to though.

Must be the only regiment still doing beds etc like that. We made blocks and Wednesday beds etc in the RM when I went through CTCRM. Not anymore though. It’s blue quilts now. Can’t knock the standards of the Gurkhas though they are immaculate.

These are tough soldiers and that is how discipline in the British army works. When lives are at stake and you are told to do something which may result in your death, you do it without question for the greater good.

The Gurkhas deserve every right that comes with being a British soldier ,they have a long history of fighting for Britain, if I ever meet a Gurkha and he allows it I’m shaking him by the hand ....respect to the Gurkhas from the North West of England
