I recently bought my first griddle. It’s a 28” 2 burner. I’ve only had one chance to use it so far. I fixed bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs & biscuits. The bacon stuck, the sausage tried to stick. The biscuits burned on one side. The eggs turned out perfect.
@JohnnyBrunet

Ya breakfast on a two burner can be difficult especially your first one. I would reccomend getting a small wire rack to lift the biscuits up slightly off the griddle. This will take longer to cook them but less of a chance of burning. Also even after my first seasoning of my griddle I still had things stick for the first few cooks. Eventually as you build your seasoning it will not stick as much.

Ahhhh am I glad to find your videos a little over a month ago as my wife and I just bought a flattop and I realized how much I had forgotten as I cooked for a restaurant chain back in the mid 1970’s and I did the midnight shift. But in watching your videos has been a great help to remember what I learned back then sadly the chain collapsed in the 1980’s many years after I left them but cooking on their flattop was great as it wasn’t steel it was stone once we started the burners on opening day we never shut them off. Thanks for the help and memories.

Hey Johnny, Jonny here again. If you remember me, I just got the 4 burner few weeks back & did my first hibachi cook. Turned out great. Last weekend I was invited by some friends to go with them to Talladega speedway to watch NASCAR. They had two of these two burner griddle’s. The two burner griddle I was able to cook absolutely everything the big one dead, except for smaller quantities of food. We basically did the same thing as you but camping we did not have an oven. We just put inside of aluminum trays to keep warm.

Turn one burner on the grill on low, put an aluminum pan on the other side of the grill and it keeps pancakes and whatever meat we want warm till everything else is done. Also a small pan of water over the low burner to keep thing from drying out

On my 2 Bruner Blackstone I just made your hash brown omelet, O Man is that a winner! But I do everything else you do but only cook for 2-3 people so not an issue for me. I would like to see you do some thin meats like flank steak (rare or med rare) as that is challenging to get right. Also 1” or less steaks for breakfast or whatever. Remember those Huge Costco all beef 1/4 pound dogs! I’m a fan, well you know!

Finally had a chance to christen my new two burner griddle (first griddle!) this week. We made reuben sandwiches, but the way my wife remembers her mom making them. Chop up canned corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island, and shredded mozzarella. Stir it all up into one gooey mess of a filling in a big bowl. Makes it a lot easier. Was a good experience even if the weather decided to get cold for it. Pick a lane, weather. Looking forward to more griddling, the kids watched a lot of these videos with me over the winter, so they are just as excited.

Congratulations on the new griddle!!! Those Reubens sound delicious and a lot easier. My mother used to make a chopped ham and Swiss like that. Ham, Swiss, mustard, mayo and poopy seed. Same concept you choo it up, mix in a bowl then cook. I'll definitely have to give your recipe a try. And yes I'm in Ohio, our weather keeps flip flipping too. I'm just ready for summer. I appreciate you and your kids watching the videos, I hope they help you make great meals for your family.

Great tips as always Johnny. I have the 2 burner Blackstone and made fajitas for a bunch of friends. That’s when I realized I needed to use the oven to keep my food warm. It worked out great, so it’s awesome that you are sharing that tip. I also find, depending on what I am cooking, I will alternate turning burners on and off throughout the cook. That seems to help regulate the temperature. Keep up the awesome job and sense of humor. Cheers.

I think I mentioned this before. I have a Single Burner 17" Blackstone Adventure Series Griddle. My dad and I made a big breakfast one morning. But we used my gas grill too. Cooked the bacon and sausage on that. Took some of the grease catcher aluminum things that you put on the back of your Blackstone to catch grease and what-not. Put paper towels in them and put the finished breakfast meat in there. Then put them on the hot dog rack on the grill as a warmer. Then did the eggs, breakfast potatoes, and toast on the Griddle. Then we just took egg orders and served up each plate when their eggs were done. You have to have 2 people doing it. But it did the job. Just a suggestion for us single Burner Guys. Keep On Keepin' On!!!! 🔥 👊 😮😊

@JohnnyBrunet
@JohnnyBrunet Жыл бұрын
I almost mentioned camping but totally forgot. My suggestion would be to buy the foil pans from the baking isle and try to utilize the fire if it's going at night. You can put whatever gets done first in a foil pan wrapped in foil the. Set in "near" the fire, not directly in it. You could also do the ze thing with a cast iron pan if you got one. It will never be as easy as the oven but it's worth trying. Or on the odd chance that you have a spare empty cooler you could always hold the food in the same foil pan in a cooler. People always think cold for coolers but it's works just as well holding food warm. Again neither of these ideas are as easy as an oven buth they're worth trying. Hope that helps.

Johnny i have the 2 burner Cuisinart 360 griddle. I've only had it for a few weeks, so im still getting use to it. Even on liw setting the temp gets fairly hot. Any recommendations on controlling the burners so the temperature doesn't get so hot?

@JohnnyBrunet 11 ай бұрын
Hey Troy. I would put the food down right when it gets to temp. So if you're looking for 375 then don't walk away for 20 min while it's preheating and let it shoot up to 450. Check the temp as it preheats and once it gets to 375 throw your food down. Also preheat on low if you aren't doing that already. And finally if it does get too hot don't be scared to squirt down some water to cool it down. I hope that helps, thanks for watching.

I’ve watched too many of your videos. I can now predict when you’re gonna say “ happy accidents”. I think sausage and peppers would be a good fit for a 2 burner.

@@scottperson9487 I showed a breakfast for just 3 people and never used the word secret. But yes they are limited by the size you can only cook so much. This video was to help a subscriber with a two burner griddle show how I would make breakfast on mine. I was not claiming there were any secrets, hacks, or that it was just like cooking on a 4 burner. I'm sorry if that's the way you interpreted the video, that was not my intent. It's just breakfast on a 2 burner griddle.
