Watch us making a new windscreen for a Glastron Carlson CVX16 out of acrylic.
For all of you who complain about the price:
beside the price of the material, the investment of the oven, the knowledge and expirience - there are still around 6 hours of work going in to each of those - so do the math yourself.

A friend who used to work at an airport said they would encase the acrylic in black plastic and put it on the asphalt in the sun. Would bend like wet spaghetti

We are in Florida doing this - being that the one doing most of it is an artist, I can see that there is no one right way to do it- just curious, what material are you using for your mold?

What temperature do you bring your oven up to? ..and how long do you leave it in there?

Consult the seller of the acrylic you're purchasing. They can give you the range to go for considering the thickness and the other attributes of the acrylic for your application.

@@onjofilms What kind of question is: "Home Depot? If you're going to Home Depot to buy acrylic then you are on your own. They sell building products where the purchaser must know if the product will suit the purpose they are buying it for! If you find a 'local' business that is in the business of selling plastics of all kinds, there you will get people with the needed info you can use. I travel about 60 miles, to Denver, to find plastic specialty sellers. When I lived in Houston many years ago, the sellers were still 60 miles away but they were in town! Too many places that were local are now out of business. And, thankfully, KZfaq does offer videos on shaping all kinds of plastics and there are books available!
