Dude this is such an amazing and helpful video. I started learning Ableton a while ago from someone who already had things like click tracks and tempo tracks made but I never learned how to create them myself. THANK YOU!

This video was soooooo helpful. Thank you so much man. Your editing and pacing is really good Although a few times as I tried to follow along it felt like you were going pretty quick lol. Very well done and thank you!

Thanks a bunch!! Yeah I am realizing that getting the pacing of a video right is quite tricky. Hopefully, I'll be able to dial that in as I make more videos.

Oh, I thought you will include the cues of human counting intro, verse one, chorus, bridge, ending. Do you have that too. Or can you recommend where can I find those stuff using Ableton? Thanks

can you re-do this for Ableton 11?
@trevorbeingtrevor
@trevorbeingtrevor 6 ай бұрын
Hey @chiphewitt9935 It's still very useful for Ableton 11 in my opinion. There are some interface changes to Clip View and now it's possible to add more macros knobs, but otherwise the core concepts are there. Is there is something I am missing though? Curious your thoughts.

but don't you have to draw in the notes every time you use your preset?
@trevorbeingtrevor

Not unless you need to create a new time signature. Otherwise you just drag it in from the file browser like I do towards the very end of the video. Essentially, once you make once and save it, you can always drag and drop it in easily.

@@trevorbeingtrevor When you open a new session, how do you access the click tracks you've just made in this session?
@trevorbeingtrevor
@trevorbeingtrevor Жыл бұрын
@@jeniferthyssen4025 You will need to save the project file somewhere you can access via the Places section in the file browser. After that it is just a matter of navigating to it and pulling the device in. Make sure to use the session view trick I show at the 7:45 so the time signatures clips are easy to grab as well. If you are going to use the click tracks often, it could be worth it to add the project file to the Collections tab for quick access.

@trevorbeingtrevor around 1:45 on the video it says we need to access some hidden folders. I am on a windows machine and I don't understand where I am supposed to look for these.

@@judsonadair9218 at 1:57 I show the path to the files for Windows, I also have a link in the description from Ableton's website that has more detail. Hope that helps!

@trevorbeingtrevor so I figured out how to get to the files and I copied them into the project folder but when I go to the current project folder in Ableton the files aren't showing. Just to be clear, I created a project called "click track." Then a new folder appeared in my windows explorer called "Click Track project." I added the wave files to that folder. When I go to Ableton, I click on "Current Project" but all that pops up is "Click Track.als" I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
@trevorbeingtrevor
@trevorbeingtrevor 3 ай бұрын
@@judsonadair9218 Inside of Ableton, click on Current Project. Then, right click inside that window space where you see "Click Track.als". There should be an option to "Show in Explorer" (at least on Windows there is). Select that and confirm the files are actually in that folder.

hello everyone ! i genuinely do not understand why create a track. Just activating métronome is not enough ? Is it to make it more visual ? Everybody says it is helpfull so i have to do same. But i miss the point. I will try this out anyway.

Hey, valid question, I'm sure others have thought the same. Yes, it's more visual, easy to turn on and off, easy to switch clicks for different songs, easy to move between projects. Essentially a bunch of little things that help alot for certain use cases. I have more in-depth video on the project page that might help it make more sense as well. Hope that helps!
