Learn how to make a super easy cloak or cape in my latest beginner sewing project - no pattern needed! This cape is the perfect cosplay or costume accessory - it's quick and easy to sew and adds drama to any character. Make it in a velvet fabric like I did for a masquerade or king/queen/prince/princess costume, or use a bright colored fabric for a superhero cape.
It's also perfect for last minute Halloween costumes if you need a last minute costume idea for a costume party or comicon.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
-Fabric of your choice: I used 1 ¾ yards of a velvet fabric (you can use ANY fabric you want for this), but depending on your size and the width of your fabric you may need more or less - follow the steps of seeing how large to cut the cloak and then buy your fabric based on that size to make sure you get enough!
-1.5 yards of 1-2 inch wide ribbon or trim for the tie
-Sewing Machine: this is the machine I use: amzn.to/2HcBk3b *
-Ball Point Needles: these are what I use: amzn.to/3ehIgvi *
-Thread: this is my favorite because it’s strong & durable (I've found its worth buying better quality thread because cheaper thread breaks a lot): amzn.to/2TEiTbr *
-Scissors: this is a great affordable set I’ve had for years: amzn.to/2NMnZBl *
-(Optional) Walking Foot: if you’re using a stretch fabric that sews really wavy, a walking foot can help it sew smoother. Here’s the one I use with my Singer machine: amzn.to/2NkhoxP *
-Pins
-Tape Measure
