Make an amazing looking cloud light for your house or room with items you already have around the house. All you need are bottles, cotton, old x-mas lights and some glue. You can put this awesome project together in another 15-20 minutes and the results are absolutely stunning!

After doing this myself there are 2 MAJOR things i'd suggest. 1 - String your fishing line in the bottle FIRST not after putting on your material. 2 - Poke holes throughout the bottle to reduce the heat inside. Other than that great video!

Looks really good. Might be easier to use a clear spray adhesive. Heating could be an issue if the lights get very warm/hot inside a plastic bottle. Definitely not for people with allergies because this will be a dust collector.

one thing you should say is that old style Christmas lights aren't recommended, old, non LED style tree lights create heat (Like any standard light bulb) and that amount of heat sealed into a plastic bottle that is insulated with cotton wool could quite easily create a fire big enough to burn down a house!

I tried this with 3 of the giant blue water jugs and I had to suspend it from the ceiling using plastic chain because it was so heavy, I also noticed that spray adhesive works much better and faster than hot glue!

Another option if you want one more cloud shaped is to use metal screen wire. Can be like bug screen from your windows or a small hardware cloth. The HW cloth [1/8th or smaller], will be much easier to bend into odd shapes [like a thunderhead] and not as much glue will drop thru. I used a combination of both and didn't wrap it with any fishing line. Instead, I used a light coat of 'artist fixative' traditionally used over charcoal drawings. Unfortunately, cats love to mess with these lights.....

Pro-Tip: Next time just leave it ominous. "I used to be an air conditioner" is enough. It is compelling and begs for extra questioning. +egg 1. I don't necessarily mind much - especially as there's usually some truth in it - but in this instance I felt that OK T was just being gratuitously unpleasant. However, having said that, OK T's comment was, to begin with, informational and not without merit, so it's only fair that I should respond kindly with a gift of my own that he/she clearly needed - i.e., a lesson in manners. ;) 2. Of course, I would have needed to know to search for _heat proof LED bulbs_ before I could search for them - and I didn't expect much help from the list of commercial outlets which dealt in _cloud lights,_ which is what I got when I searched for those. Yeah, making it with stuff you have on your home... Why the *BLEEP* everybody assumes people has "glue guns" ready and loaded lying around your houses?! Unless you do projects like this all the time, it makes no sense! Also, any store light is better than the highly flammable, not recommended Xmas lights, that by the way, are supposed to be kept three feet away from any combustible material, like, let's say... Plush filling! This thing may burn your house to ashes just because it's five dollars cheaper than the safe-made, approved ones from the store!
