To make this a little nicer perhaps put in a felt cloth liner, then when you open it, it would look nice on the inside.The outside could be decorated or a wire stand made.All in all a very good idea, but you will still have a hole or two at one end, so these holes could be plugged using resin or car body filler and use a permanent felt pen to colour the resin or put a cover over the resin points.

Oh dear!! Is there a safer way to cut open the coconut? It seems pretty difficult to line up where the two parts of the zipper should be adhere to on the coconut shell halves to enure they close properly. Also, how well does the zipper fabric stick to the coconut shell with hot glue? It's a very cute project if we could get the result like yours. I imagine it would take some practice. Thanks for sharing : )

Roman, great video. You can make a water bottle survival style, without tools, open a hole with a stone drain the liquid, then put the coconut in a ant hill after 10~24 hours the ants will eat the coconut leaving the shell then wash it, and make a corck with a stick.Bingo, you have a survivors canteen.
