Today I am going to show you how to crochet this cute little elephant! This is a quick and easy amigurumi project that is great for beginners! I am showing you step-by-step how to crochet all the parts and how to sew them on, and also how to sew on the eyes. I used cotton yarn for the purple elephant, and acrylic yarn for the grey one.

Round 22 for the body has missed a step. Round 22 should be 18sc and then round 23 is what round22 is on the video (12sc)

thank you for the written pattern & the video. I've only been crocheting for a week and have never done any other crafty type thing so it's been a steep learning curve, but your careful, clear videos & directions have helped me achieve more than I thought I could! I wanted to see if I could do this elephant without the video and it went pretty well I did struggle with the trunk and so watched you do it - mine still didn't work exactly right, but not bad for a first timer. I'm also struggling with getting the arms/legs even, somehow all are a bit different! I will be watching the rest of the video to see how you assemble the elephant as I am waiting for a proper needle & have only pinned her together so far.

for round 22 of the body it's actually supposed to be 2 single crochets, 1 single crochet decrease (18 stiches) and then after that you do what she says for round 22: 1 single crochet, 1 single crochet decrease (12 stitches)

It is a bit hard too see. I have two small lamps on my desk with out the lamp shade and it helps a bunch. If you want to try that out.

If you were to use safety eyes, what row would you put them?

Maybe a little higher then the trunk. A tip, you can crochet the elephant and attach the safety eyes when you’re done. Use some super glue! But I recommend to practice on a little crochet ball first. Then you can place the eyes when you’re done and glue them on when you have found the perfect place ☺️

I belive there is a mistake: if in round 21: is 24sc and in 22: *1sc, 1 dec* that is not 12sc in total 🤔

That should be no problem. Your elephant will just be bigger. How good it will look at the end depends on how good you are in sewing the pieces together, it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the yarn.

Hello! Thank you for this very cute elephant tutorial and I purchased the instructions. I do have a question about the ears, though. Round 3 - 6. I had a hard time figuring out what the instructions were saying. For example, Round 5 (3sc, sc increase) Does that mean 3 single crochet in the first stitch, then single crochet twice???) Not sure. Thank you for helping me.
