Hello. I'm from the Philippines. I came across your video in June 2020. Something clicked inside my head while watching it. I now have a pallet wood workbench with a tool wall. It was my first time ever to hold and use power tools. Wish I can upload a picture and show you my workbench. I'm a complete novice but I am pretty pleased with it. Can't thank you enough for this video.

My tip for getting even gaps when you're spacing slats: place another slat or small piece of wood in between the slats while you're screwing them in, then move and repeat. More reliable than measuring! Thanks for the great video 😌 these pallet videos are very inspiring. Any tips for tidying up your pallet timber when it's damaged or warped? I've collected lots of pallets lately but they're all different widths and thicknesses which makes building with them extra tricky!

That was a very cool video. Easy to follow, logical. If you took 2 of these benches placed side by side you now have a 4 ft x 8ft long, 35" inches high very usable work bench. Add 2 heavy duty caster wheels to make bench mobile. Plus, great example of how to use JUST the pallet wood as souce to build complete pallet. The add on back shelf by inserting half of other pallet....brilliant.

I've just made a Work bench out of a single bed frame ...and strengthened it up with pallet wood.+ a bit of 3"x 2"..It's in the attic So it's gonna be there for ever!! (everything get's dumped in MY attic (wife) and I needed a bench) so stripped off the padding revealing a 6ft x 3ft (old school no MMs in my brain), perfect size. Now all I gotta do is a lot of trips to the Corpy Dump, to give me space for MY JUNK heh heh. Great vid Craig

Maybe you could show how to make desk with a center and side drawers. One with no back, short back and a tall back desk. I am building one with a tall back as a room type divider with shelves and the back can be used to hang pics, a shelf or all kinds of other things could be hung on the back. I am sure it would take a couple of videos to do all the desks.

Where in the world do you get pallet wood with no old nail holes. I've never seen a pallet where you could pull the nails and the hole close up! Magical!
@Jimlbonner
@Jimlbonner 6 жыл бұрын
Tim Loer i was wondering the same thing! And perfectly straight with no forklift damage... and he is screwing into the end-grain without pre drilling, Old dry pallet wood would split if you even thought about doing that. Ha ha. But that’s what you get from Someone who’s tools Look like they just came out of the box...

Get some wood filler. Pilot holes do help...
@jeffnorbert1871
@jeffnorbert1871 4 жыл бұрын
@@Jimlbonner maybe just a little hard on the guy but after 19 years in the pallet business I would say that most pallet wood isn't ready to build with unless you prep it first. Rough cut wood is often uneven and building something straight and square with it can be a challenge that will lead to disappointment for most beginners. An item like this isn't hard to make with palletwood and it doesn't have to be perfect. Good thing cause it won't be. Notice someone suggested he sell "plans". No plans needed for something this simple. Just the material, a few tools and a functional mind. Anybody should have a square handy as they build and I'd use construction adhesive like liquid nails, not wood glue.
@darrenhenderson7076

He dint get them from a pallet because 2x4 used on pallets are undercut which gives pallet jack and fork lifts to pick up from underneath so no way those 2x4 are from a legitimate pallet he bought at store at some point
