I made one of these little drawstring bags to match a dress that I made for my granddaughter. Its such a cute set for her to wear on her first day in kindergarten. Thank you so much for teaching me/us how to make such a cute little bag.

You can figure the size because she did to use 2 fat quarters which are usually 18 x 22

You don’t need measurements. Make it any size you want. Usually should be a rectangle. Hope that helps.

Great video. I love the way you insert the ribbon on both sides of the bag so that you can pull on both ends of ribbon and it closes the bag up beautifully in a pinch - brilliant!

I'm a beginner when it comes to sewing, but I can't believe that no one has come up with a better way to thread twill tape, etc, like you're doing here instead of using a safety pin. The Sew Tites are cool.

So cute! Thank you, ChicnScratch, for sharing! But I was disappointed, after cutting my front piece, that the pattern wasn't lined up correctly to finish top and bottom, but it was positioned side to side. Wish you had addressed that important step, before I had to cut another piece to accommodate the direction of the fabric. Oh well, live and learn. Still loving it, though!

Very cute. I always hunt for different ways to make these! Your way seems very easy to me. Have not used my sew tiles( they are heavy) very clever of you to use that way! The bag I made is super cute. It’s for my grandson’s snack at school. The only thing I would have like to know is how to orient directional fabric. I ended up having to cut a piece that went the opposite way because my alligators were sideways lol. And because it’s a continuous piece they’re right side up on one side, but upside down on the other. But oh well he’s only five lol. all in all a great tutorial and it’s a very cute bag.
