Attach the drill to the threaded rod so you don't have to thread the nuts by hand.

Right. Put a box wrench on nut. Then rod in drill. Put drill in reverse and presto.

Or use vise grips on nut too control once the rod spins

Glad I googled and came across your video. Great video and may I add, you saved me a few $$ making a DIY roller cleaner. I was going to purchase one (somewhat.....the same concept) on Amazon....but not for $30 bucks. Your idea cost me $3.00. The $27 I saved, went to a case a beer. Again, thanks.

Great video, may I add... Use a two bucket method...one empty one to pre spin the paint off and the other is full of water ,spin brush in bucket of water then remove place back in empty bucket and then spin dry

Interestingly, I made one of these a couple of weeks ago, to accommodate large diameter (about 2" or 2.25" inch) rollers, because regular 'Nap spinners don't seem to come with large dia options. Works superbly well, the only difference really is that I used pairs of nuts on the inside and outside of both ends to lock.

You dont need to clean your roller every day, at the end of the day put paint on, remove it from the frame and wrap it up with plastic, it stays good for a couple of weeks.

innovation noun [ C/U ] US /ˌɪn·əˈveɪ·ʃən/ a new idea or method, or the use of new ideas and methods: Raj not to rain on you but it’s not innovation. It is a good solution to DIY though. But this idea isn’t new. It’s taken from the “Dandy Pro” that does brushes and rollers. This only does rollers. Take into consideration the cost of the roller, a threaded rod, nuts and multiply it with the the amount of different roller diameters against the price of the original then there’s no money saved. I’d simply buy a “Dandy” with a guarantee, wait I did. Works flawlessly.

All thread is pretty expensive. Not counting nuts, washers, and destroying a paint roller to make it. Not saying this isn't something I'd make if I had everyone laying around already but these can be bought already made for 10 or 11 bucks.

I figured out a way I like better and would love for you to make a video of it because it does not fit with my youtube channel niche. I leave the paint roller mounted on the handle and slide it off just enough to expose the hub near the handle. Then hold the chuck of my drill against it to spin. Hold the paint roller handle down over the lip of a 5 gal bucket for stability and splatter elimination. Expense = zero $ and zero time.

Good idea thinking of doing it I'm not being negative but I myself will use stainless steel because I think as it rusts it will run down into the rooler
@DavidLaFerney3 жыл бұрын
Probably won’t be a problem if you let it dry good before storage. And don’t leave a wet roller cover on it. Probably.

Alert! A misuse of "Dickie Doo" warning. The proper use of dicky do is when you tell somebody you have a Dickie Doo belly, and they ask what is that? You tell them that it's a belly that sticks out further than your dicky do!
