Cool idea. This would also be good for crochet supplies and hooks. Although in my case it is probably not a good idea to have sharp objects around my waist. How does it work when you sit down? Do the scissors and xacto knife stick into you?

I don't think the holder will work because you can't fit it through the belt loops.
