How to Make a Face Cast (Without using your face)

Awesome tutorial Klaire! I had two entire face masks (2 positive and negative molds together) fall on my foot and break it in half so I definitely thumbs up the taking out the extra plaster if you can!

Aha! 2 years ago I wanted to make a gluegun mask and ended up doing this technique ^^ only I used a plastic mask and oil clay for support and blocking out the eyes. I'm happy I was able to figure it out with out the wonderfull klaire having to spell it out for me ;)

Thank you so much for making this I've been mulling over making a face cast for months but it just seemed too dangerous and time consuming, and I'm broke at 😂

I have an old plaster cast of my head lying about made of twol halves where they intersect down the middle along my ears. Could I use this method on those in a way that I can keep the casts? like put a layer of siram wrap inside them and just seal them both with ductape?

it's an alternative but but isn't perferct like with your face... good contuniation!!

will there be any problems with the fit of prosthetics since the mask is not the exact same form as your face?

It won't be exact. It can't be, that's the beauty of a propper face cast, but this will do the trick for a lot of things even though it won't be perfect.

I've tried to make face casts before, and the plaster always crumbles when it's out of whatever the face shape is :(

Try stone powder. It's much tougher than regular plaster. I'd be very surprised if you have any issues with that :)

Bobby Downey you can use it to make facial prosthetics and masks =)

Some one with a broad nose and full lips can't do this
