Is the bamboo stick hollow?is it strong enough to support 25-30kg gada?
@KettlebellKimberlyFox4 жыл бұрын
The sticks I used were hollow. My heaviest one is just under 20kg

What are those coloured plastic bowls and where might I get them from? Thanks

They are plastic fish bowls

I'm no expert but it's recommended to lean forward to avoide back injuries. You as well as your partner did it with straight back. Try glancing at some distance in front of your feet while doing it

Can you further add cement to this gada in order to increase the weight, since I see there is still space ? I am asking visit it possible to add more weight after a few months or a year in case your fish bowl still has empty space after making the gada
@KettlebellKimberlyFox3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know a ton about cement. As long as the new cement would bond with the old cement then yes
@hananokuni25803 жыл бұрын
@@KettlebellKimberlyFox It's a good idea to add lead shot or coarse gravel to the cement to get a heavier mace without having to use a lot of cement and to keep the head at a manageable size.
@bobdole72922 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t it make more sense to just buy maces? Some of the heavier weights might be worth it but 25 lb mace and under are $65 down to like 30 bucks. And that’s brand new. Seems like by the time you buy the bamboo and bowl and everything you could’ve just bought a steel mace
@KettlebellKimberlyFox2 жыл бұрын
Because sometimes you just want to swing bamboo and concrete. I have steel maces as well. But these swing different because all the weight is in the head.
@bobdole72922 жыл бұрын
@@KettlebellKimberlyFox that’s a good point with the weight being concentrated
@KettlebellKimberlyFox2 жыл бұрын
@@bobdole7292 there is also flex in the Bamboo which definitely changes the feel.

I have made one using iron but concrete is going to be my next one.
@calebhill58903 жыл бұрын
When making concrete the water doesn’t evaporate, so it will wind up contributing a great deal to the final weight.

Very true.

So basically just cement, plastic bowl, water, bamboo, 4 inch bolts. That's it?

Yep. You could also use glass containers and then break the glass after

Which bamboo stick should I order? And how man kg cement to make a 20 kg gada?
@KettlebellKimberlyFox4 жыл бұрын
I just ordered one's I found on Amazon. You will pre mix the cement and then put the mold on a scale as you fill it. This way you get the weight you want.
So if I make a 20 kg gada, I must order 20 kg cement?
@KettlebellKimberlyFox4 жыл бұрын
You will need less because water will account for some of the weight. For the 3 gada I used less than 2 bags of cement. 38lb/ 28/ 18lb

Each bag weighed how much

Can we also make adjustable mace....??? If you know anything about this, please reply
@KettlebellKimberlyFox4 жыл бұрын
Any and all adjustable makes I know of that aren't gonna fly off the handle are metal. So if you can weld then yes.
@yojishinkawa3783 жыл бұрын
I'm planning to make a 15lb mace with a short 3/4" diameter steel pipe for a handle instead of wood. The exposed end of the pipe will be threaded, so you can attach a pipe fitting to it called a coupling, which allows you to screw in another pipe of any length. As for the end which gets embedded in the concrete, attaching a flange or a T fitting will give the concrete something sturdy to grab on to. 3/4" steel pipe is very sturdy, and it's really not that heavy at all.

When training GAda , one should not look down. The objective of Gada training was to throw the opponent or a strike a weapon. Never look up but practice to use the spine and back and throw over . When you look up it uses Shoulder stabilizers rather then the whole spine and back.With correct practice even a physically not so gifted person and swing another person of his back or a weapon. By looking up it puts pressure on the neck and can result in an injury
@KettlebellKimberlyFox3 жыл бұрын
What is your question? Yes I have thrown a man, but generally he is not so far away from my body as the Gada. The benefits are many but to say they are the same as wrestling.... I would say not. Are they a benefit? Yes they are.
@shamik06083 жыл бұрын
@@KettlebellKimberlyFox Then you should practice the routine in traditional Indian wrestling and work with guys who have been practicing for years to understand the motion dynamics and it's applications. Gada is not a tool only for weight training, like Kettle bells and clubbells it had its applications and that is the reason it was used. But you have your own choice and can use it the way you want
