(Pin this if you can!) Here are some tips when making POC characters or black characters. Make sure to add a few wavy hair here and there Black people do not blush red naturally like light toned people, make their blush a little darker than their skin color Make sure that they dont always have the darkest skin color, they can always have a lighter skin color, but that does not make them not black. Also, its possible they have blue or green colored eyes and maybe blonde hair naturally. Also, when making a full cast of characters (Side or main) Make sure to add a little uniqueness to them, people do not like when all the characters look all like pretty blonde pink princesses to bad boy with scars stereotypes. Make sure not to make them all white, add some asians and black people too! You can also add more types of people. Also, this is something I never saw before, but make sure to make one of your main characters have a flaw, not just rich, pretty and etc, not all main characters have big scars that are VERY visible. Lastly, do not be afraid to make your main character not a white basic person, they can be latina, latino, asian, black and much more! That is all my best advice to give. Byeee 💞💞💞

Idea: For some reason it looks weird when people use light hair and light eyes. Why not make the character pop by mixing it up like light hair and dark eyes or dark hair and light eyes, it looks better.

Even tho gacha club now has alot of options, people still tend to stick to the old stereotypes, i dont know why.

The abused girl dun be lookin like a roblox character-

For the abused child stereotype, that reminded me of one of my pet peeves in gacha videos, not even just Gacha Club, I also saw it in Gacha Life and even some Gachaverse, and a lot of these can also be applied to a ton of other media, such as shows, movies, books, animations, and more: (Trigger warning: Self-harm, eating disorders, substance abuse, abuse in general, mentions of anxiety attacks and panic attacks, mentions of Tourette's and tics, torture, ABA, gender dysphoria, surgery, needles, pills) CUTTING. IS. NOT. THE. ONLY. FORM. OF. SELF. HARM. I see this way too often, actually, literally all videos that have self-harm in them only use cutting, there's purposely bruising yourself, banging your head against a wall, overeating, undereating, eating foods you know your allergic to(those last 3 do also count as eating disorders, but I'm sure for tons of people eating disorders stemmed from self-harm, possibly including me, not self-diagnosing though, just suspicious), scratching yourself(depending on how sharp and/or long your nails are, it may be included in cutting though, I believe it still fits in this list though, as most Gacha characters exclusively cut using knives, which even then, as far as I know, is pretty unrealistic, I believe razors are more commonly used, but also I'm pretty sure there isn't a razor prop so that does make sense), biting yourself, and tons more, really anything purposefully destructive you do towards yourself could probably count as self-harm Some other things that piss me off about the abused child/depressed person stereotype: 1: Not all depressed people self-harm 2: Not all depressed people partake in substance abuse(that luckily hasn't been featured in Gacha videos much as far as I've seen other than the alcoholic dad stereotype, but it's a popular stereotype in other forms of media, so I thought I'd make note of that as well 3: Not all people who have been abused have been physically abused(there's also sexual abuse, mental abuse, psychological abuse, and emotional abuse) 4: Not all people who have been abused were abused by specifically their parents and/or siblings 5: Not all depressed people show that they're depressed, to be fair showing it is rarer than not doing so, usually people suffering from depression are more likely to try to portray themselves as as perfect as possible than people without 6: Depression is very different from sadness, depression is more like being numb to most emotions than being sad a lot of the time To be fair, a lot of mental illnesses are very strongly misrepresented in the gacha community(and many other forms of media, such as movies, TV shows, books, etc), I'll briefly go over a few things, but not in the extent I did with the depressed person/abused child stereotype: 1: Anxiety attacks/panic attacks aren't sitting in a corner while whispering "I can't breathe" for 30 minutes and then being fine again, that is highly unrealistic, I won't go into detail on what happens during a panic attack or anxiety attack, as it may get a little disturbing for some, but if you would like, you can do some research on your own 2: This isn't touched on much but I have seen it in one or two mini movies if I remember correctly, but with dissociative disorders such as DID(Dissociative Identity Disorder) and OSDD(Other Specified Dissociative Disorder), different alters fronting can not change the looks of the body of the system, the closest to doing so would probably be slight shifts in voice and how one speaks, of course if the mini movie or series is fantasy-based, you may disregard that fact, for example: If anyone who read this far(if you have read this far, hats off to you, I've basically turned this into an essay at this point, but I'm gonna keep rolling with it because I'm having fun) is aware of what Creepypastas are, if I remember correctly, the character Homicidal Liu is commonly believed to have black eyes when Sully is fronting(especially in things like cosplays, I'm not sure if it's fully canon or not because my memory is shit), and that is pretty close to a dissociative disorder, probably the closest in most popular medias and fandoms 3: Tourette's Syndrome isn't always only twitching or swearing, actually, if I remember correctly, only 10% of people with Tourette's have swearing tics 4: ADHD isn't just constantly being distracted, I won't go into detail as that would take far too long, so I recommend doing your own research One last thing that pisses me off that isn't related to mental disorders, is the stereotypes in transgender-related mini movies and series, some of these can actually be really harmful, for the transgender-related parts, I'm going to be mainly focusing on FtM stereotypes, due to the fact that I myself am a trans guy, and I don't know much about the transitioning process for trans girls, if anyone wants to, they're welcome to touch on it in the replies: 1: DO NOT. MOTHERFUCKING. BIND. WITH. BANDAGES. OR. DUCT. TAPE. ACE bandages are specifically designed to tighten every time they're stretched out, therefore, they tighten every time one breathes, binding with ACE bandages can cause serious complications such as: Difficulties breathing, bruised ribs, other rib problems, and overall inability to have top surgery in the future(for those who don't know, top surgery for trans men and AFAB transmasc enbies is removing the breast tissue from the body, therefore giving a flat chest without binding, for trans women and AMAB transfem enbies, it is providing breasts, the two are different but commonly use the same name, although there are medical names to differentiate them, but I'm not sure what they are), and for duct tape, I don't think I need to explain how painful removing duct tape from your skin is, especially from an area as sensitive as your breasts, as well as the complications I already mentioned, instead, opt for something specifically meant for binding, such as binders, I believe there is a type of skin-friendly tape that was specifically designed for binding, worst case scenario, you aren't out yet but you still want to bind, you could layer two sports bras on top of each other, one facing the front and one facing the back, or, depending on your chest size, you can just use one sports bra 2: On the topic of binding, don't bind for too long, the recommended amount of time is 8-12 hours per day, the healthiest would be 10 hours max, but obviously, school and work exists, so 12 is the best some can get, the moment you start feeling pain or trouble breathing, you need to take it off if you can, if you can, take breaks even when you're not in pain or discomfort, when you do take breaks, take a deep breath, stretch a little, and drink some water, then you can put the binder back on (Those last two points kind of turned into a guide for binding instead of a guide to making realistic transmasc characters but I'm gonna keep it because it might help some people out) 3: Transitioning for trans men and transmasc enbies isn't just "Cut hair, come out, bind", yes, that is some of it, but it's way more lengthy and difficult than that, one also has to deal with dysphoria(which means unhappiness and general discomfort with the body, some main causes of dysphoria include: Breasts/lack of breasts, penis/lack of penis, hair, clothes, social standards and titles, some more minor and 'weird' causes include: Hands, face shape, lips, phone cases), hormones(if anyone is confused, trans men would take testosterone, trans women would take estrogen, if you don't know, testosterone is the male hormone, estrogen is the female hormone, I know a lot of kids are in this community so I thought that might need to be included. something else a lot of people don't know is that there are multiple forms of hormones, for men there's not only shots, but also gel, patches, and some more that I can't think of), and for some, surgery, the main 2 are top and bottom surgery(top is, like I said, either removing the breast tissue or adding breast tissue, and bottom is either creating a penis out of skin already on the body, or tucking the penis back into the body), but there is also voice masculinization/feminization surgery(I don't think I need to explain that) 4: This one is both for people trying to include transgender characters in their creations and transphobes, a 5-year-old would definitely not be getting hormones immediately if they came out as transgender, do you think a 5-year-old would be getting puberty at that age normally? No! In fact, in most countries, you can't even get hormones until you're like, 16, and that's with parental consent, although if they were like, 8 or 9, or somewhere before puberty but still close-ish, they could get hormone blockers, which stops them from getting puberty 5: Not all non-binary people are chubby white kids with an undercut who look perfectly androgynous all the time I'm gonna cut it here, although there is much more I want to talk about, I've already been rambling for like 6 paragraphs straight, so I'll give anyone who managed to read through all this a break, props to you by the way, I basically wrote a how-to essay on writing characters, and you read through all of it, have a cookie!

Also want to mention that there is no definitive way of making Gacha characters: this is just one efficient way of doing it. There is no wrong or right way.
