After randomly stumbling onto your channel, I was immediately impressed, awe struck, and inspired. You are wonderful girl! I've been battling depression since the passing of my Mom, and for over 3 years I have not been creative, or motivated to do much of anything. My creative/artistic trait was a gift from my Mom and she was always so proud we shared that. I know it would sadden her to know that I have done nothing with it for these past years. I wanted to let you know how grateful I am to find your channel. The wonderful creations you make pulled me out of my fog and I'm proud to say I just finished staining the wood floors and walls in my first attempt at a coffee can Gnome home! My Mom would absolutely love everything you do, and I simply cannot thank you enough for inspiring me. Keep up the amazing work, and I look forward to following along and learning.

first let me offer my sincerest sympathies on the loss of your precious mom, my heart goes out to you. If I could I would give you a BIG hug. I'm so sorry! I can relate to your feelings, I still have my mom but I know that my time with her will be over sooner than later as she is elderly now and facing health issues. We are close, we phone or see each other every day. She is my partner in crime, lol my everything. The very thought of having to say goodbye forever grips my throat. I try not to go there and just enjoy the time we have. I'm so honored to be part of the renewing you feel, that means more to me than I can ever say. I wish you many peace-filled creative days as you continue healing and know your mom is close by as you create your Gnome Home! I'm so happy to know that you will be watching as I continue on this journey too. Lots of love ~ Sharon

Just fabulous, I love it! Every time you release a video, I get so excited & look forward to making something similar. Then the little demon on my other shoulder starts telling me "you know you actually have to get out of bed to do what Sharon's doing?" & reminds me of how unproductive I am by comparison. So tomorrow I WILL get out of bed & achieve something, if only to annoy the chronic illness demons lol
@WhereTheGnomesLive
@WhereTheGnomesLive 6 жыл бұрын
thank you so much! Please don't ever feel that way. I totally understand chronic illness and the toll it takes. It was last year I had just gotten out of the hospital after a lengthy stay, I had been dreaming about my Gnome Home while I was in there, (that kept me sane!) Anyway, once at home, my dreams and my energy were on different planets. I remember I pulled a chair up in front of the gnome's house, knowing I was even too weak to spin the house even though it's on wheels. So I just turned the lights on inside, sat back and just thought about things. What I might do here and do there. It felt amazing just to think about it. It gave me something to look forward to and also helped pass that time away that would otherwise be wasted by staring at the ceiling. So you take your time, take as much as you need, and work at your own pace. Whatever you do, or whatever you can dream of, be proud you did that and look forward to tomorrow

I know you get it Sharon, & most of my grizzling is kinda tongue-in-cheek, I believe if you don't find some way of laughing at it all, it can take over your thoughts. I think of the old Tom & Jerry cartoons where Tom has an Angel on 1 shoulder & a Demon on the other, whispering in his ear about whether he should be mischievous or not, only mine are 2 little demons arguing about what activities are good/bad for me & admonishing me for either resting too much or doing too much LOL. I just have to focus more on what I have achieved & less on those little demons. :)

Thank you Julie. It's a huge change to go from being a person who would work multiple jobs, study & parent, to being someone who can't stand up long enough to wash the dishes or who gets exhausted from having a shower. I guess we should probably keep a diary to write down all the things we do achieve, so we can look at it when the fatigue monster is beating us.

Oh My Gosh! I have been following your videos since you started the original house for the Gnomes and I wad amazed by how amazing YOU are but I gotta say.... you have proven to be much amazinger than ever . ( yes, that is too a word😊) you know how people will ask you what you would do if you won a huge lottery? Well, I know exactly what I would do if I won.....have an exact replica of the Gnome home built in real people scale so I could live a most amazing life. I would spend the rest of my days just walking around looking at my amazing house with a gigantic grin on my face the whole time😁. And if I won again I'd have the tree house built too haha. One can dream, right? I just might have to start a project similar to this when I move into my own place again. Thank you SO much for sharing all of this with us. Can't wait to see if it ever ends. Hope not 😉

Just found your channel and I do like it a lot, great stuff. Maybe you want to put a drop of washing up liquid into your water/paint mixture to aid it flowing. A few teaspoon of white glue in that mixture will give you a extra bit of strength, especially if you use the water proof version of wood glue. Keep on with your fantastic work.... kind regards from the Rhineland

Liked this. I am going to try this but since I just bought a bundle of stuff at the store for the fairy garden, I will have to wait a while before I get back to store for paint and brushes but I definitely will make this in the next month or so. Thanks for your clear instructions. Will go now and check out the paper making for top of log.
