Thank you so much. You made this look so easy because I thought they were really complicated to make. You have given me the confidence to make one for a friend's grandson.

I get so nervous about making a hooded towel and then I remember your AMAZING tutorial! Like others have said, I have confidence now to get the towel done. Because I don't make towels often, I watch your video prior to starting each time. It's refreshing to me each time!! Thank you for taking the time to make this & give us all the confidence we need!!

Thank you :) Made it very clear for those of us who learn visually. Think my grandson and great grandson will be needing one of these...lol maybe the older girls too. Can never have too many towels in the house when you have wee ones!

Thank you for such an easy tutorial to follow. It doesn't seem so scary now. I do have a question about the hoop you are using for the pr655. What is it? I've never seen how you've bulldog clipped the towel to the hoop before. Granted I'm new to the embroidery world :)

Thanks for making this very simple. I noticed you have what appears as a laser to know your needle position? Was this an add-on to your machine? I have a Babylock BMP8 and considered purchasing a laser.

EXCELLENT tutorial!!! I have been hesitant to even try one of these but after watching your video, I think I can! My question: Did you use regular cotton fabric for the applique? I've seen some that called for felt but it seems that would be more difficult to work with. TIA :).

I have one add on to the video. I found certain designs didn’t fit as well on a hand towel cut in half, so I’ve begun sewing those on the whole towel, then trimming when finished.

I use 5x7 laid horizontally. Taller than 7" or so doesn't work well with the hood.

It would be a lot softer if you used another piece of towel inside the hood so the child is not getting scratched by the inside applique stuff or the rough seams. You can do that if you use the whole hand towel instead. Just have to fold it differently. Especially important if its for a small sensitive baby.
@angelaschmidt1175
@angelaschmidt1175 Жыл бұрын
Yes, that is the only thing I didn't like about it. Should have folded the ONE handtowel in half AFTER embroidery and sewing it shut.

Good tutorial. Only thing is, it would be better to use ONE handtowel. Fold it in half after embroidery and sew it together so it will be lined and not have the scratchy embroidery against the head.

I'd be careful with mixing colours... Towels are so heavily dyed and notorious for staining other fabrics and transferring coloured fluff! Lovely end product though! 😁 I'd just worry that it would come out of the washing machine with the lighter part all patchy with darker dye....????
