2 issues. Tactile momentary push buttons are not designed to carry high current, like is being used here. Especially inrush. Additionally an air source would be needed to call this a “hot air gun”. Rather it is an “Inferred heat gun”. Last but not least, You must use a plastic with a high melt/burn point otherwise ongoing use will cause the plastic to melt.

refer to his video, I made one. It worked barely on small size components. You need more patient. And be careful the distance, don't burnt your component. I believe You won't use this for daily repair work.

Nice start on a hot air (although there is NO AIR) de-soldering tool, but you need to add the fan. It isn't good to have it so close to the components! You will surely damage them with it being that close. I might have to make this but also add the fan of some type to make it actually work. Thanks for the idea at least.

caption say's Hot Air. yes it is Hot but There's no air, so its just A solder.. nice idea but I guess you still need to figure out on how you're gonna include the mini Fan or maybe a mini compressor with a tube in that thing. so it can have a flow of air. Hope you get it. but still thumbs up. such a great idea. the next time im gonna try that I'll also includes a heat indicator ..

It seems to be a great idea, and it could be even better if you added some air to it using an aquarium air pump, it's really cheap and effective.

I was thinking that as well, possibly a small fan of some sort connected to the back pushing air through the tube onto the exposed coil without the ceramic white thing.

Add either an exhaust fan or pipe in a fish tank oxygenator in that tube but only heating element is to be retained for the sake of air flow and also the anterior end has to be tapering...

Won’t last long you need a relay in there. A cigarette lighter pulls about 8 A roughly it’s going to burn that little switch up. Put you a Mini 12 I’ll relay in there then you got it. I like the way you did the insulator deal with the coil itself, that part I do like

Completely uncontrolled heat on the chip could cause chip failure or deteriorate the life of the chip. If you are going to do something like this, make a tube to focus the heat on just the pins you need. Or if you are removing the chip completely cover and mask the the other components first.

🔵 Even though the title of this video is incorrect as this is not a "Hot air" soldering unit but rather a 'Radiant'/ reflow soldering unit, a good idea would be to put something on the front of the unit to only allow the heating element to get a specific distance from your work and not close enough to cause damage right away before even reaching flow-temperature.

encima conmtestando tú a "LA IDEA ES BUENAAA !!..PEROOO..."" la idea NO SOLO ES MALA = INDICA IGNO0RANCIA TOOOTAL DE *TODO* PERO *TODO TODO TODOOO* LO QUE TOCA Y MANIPULA y todo para hacen *encendedor de auto que se puede tener en la mano y se enciende cun una llavecita* ( y ojo llavecita que SI VA AAA = FALLAR Y PORNTOO esas latas NO aguantan ese amperaje a 12V ) yo vine al vídeo porque yo SÍ me fabriqué uno de baja potencia similar ¡¡¡ pero con un motor de vibrador de celular dentro soplando el aire con una pequeña turbinita de aluminio de lata de desodorante TOTALMENTE IRROMPIBLE y para muy muy bajo flujo puede llegar a servir quizá en algo de electrónica MUY PERO MUY MUYY miniatura tambien pero yo la fabriqué para otras tareas Y SÍ QUE SIRVE pero *principalmente* SÍ es una pistola de aire caliente no esta payasada.

Looks like it will fry your components since there is actually no forced air. Why take the time to make this? You can pick up a cheap hot air unit for about $30 and it will be light years ahead of this one. No smart technician would ever spend this much time making such a poor unit!
