@@farwaali370initially oil and water are put up inside, and yes oil is put inside to add a good effect and due to density differences they form different layers or strata in the bottle and as soon as seltzer tablet is put inside, it lets water and tablet react as reactants producing co2 as product which rises up when they tend to rise up they dont just pop out the vessel and this repeats cyclically

If you want to make this last for a long time, instead of using baking soda and vinegar to make the food coloring go up and down, put a small hole near the bottom and attach on a small plastic tube. Put silicone or hot glue around the base of the tube so that no oil leaks out. Put an electric air pump at the other end of the tube and connect a battery and on/off switch to it. When you turn it on, air will flow through the tube into the bottom of the jar, and push the food coloring to the top. The air will escape through the top of the jar and the food coloring will go down again. The lava lamp will last until you run out of batterys (which could take months depending on the sise if the battery and electric pump) compared to the baking soda and vinegar method which will only last 5 minutes.

@@maniisaj8529 Well, I don't know if changing the oil would still make this work, but you can try. About the food colouring, it is only used for you to see better the bubles, you can do it without it.

superb idea only oil is needed extremely but superb because only 5 to 6 things are needed. But in other things like wall hanging . Need so much things needed, that's why thus idea 💡💡is very good. 👍👍👍👍🤪

@@Milan-cf1xe adjust quanteties if you want it to last longer, It's the vinegar and baking soda reacting and if you're not good at chem math, there are calculators online for how much you need of each for X amount of reaction time :) I think it's a really awesome 'experiment' for kids tho!

It's useless because I tried it in a small quantity, and I saw that it remains only for a short period not even for 1 minute, then it stops and become normal..... But it was so beautiful 😭
