Thank you, viper sniper :-) I'm using Fiebing's bag kote and yes, it hardens the leather and helps keeping the shape of the feather. Some people also use Fiebing's Tan Kote but I've experienced Bag Kote to be the best for such projects :-)

I'm new to leather working. I found your demo while studying video, would like to try to make some leather feather/earrings. I will try to make what you have done and cut it out for earrings. What would you suggest as a finishing application to the leather as a protectant? I may try to paint and/or stain, but what would my final coat application be? balex7476 - I just used a normal stylus and ground it to a smaller tip size :-)

Summer viking, I've used a no. 11 scalpel and you can buy it (and also the blades) at any medical supply store :)
