When I was saving all of those junk mail for years, I knew they would have a bigger purpose than just letting me know about a discount at the local supermarket. People have asked me if I used a mold, or a manequim to make this sculpture. Truly, I just shaped paper into body parts and put them together with flour, water and white glue. This video will show you a bit about my process of 100 hours from beginning to end on how Machella was made.
Life size paper mache sculpture from beginning to end. Materials used: newspaper, masking tape, wires, tissue paper, acrylic paint, cold porcelain clay, card stock paper, glue, flour & water.
