How to make a Locking Jar out of clay

Lately I've been dipping my toes into the world of mechanical pottery, and I was so inspired by the ceramic artist Andrew Clark to create this locking jar! This pottery project was an emotional roller coaster. Enjoy the chaos!

As a heads up, you could have left the gallery as you had it after throwing and then the locking disc could have been shaped like a teardrop (the technical term would be "cam"). When the knob is turned, the wider portion of the teardrop would rotate toward the middle of the lid and disengage with the gallery rim.

As always, I love your videos, you speak as your thinking and all the processes you think you may use our not come out. That was meant to be a complement, promise, it's what makes your videos so enjoyable.
