Just an observation. Wipe it down with alcohol or mineral spirits before paint. A lot of times, there is a thin coat of oil on steel products( even galvanized) to prevent rust, especially big box store products. Well done video ❤️❤️

I suggest doing a first coat of primer. It will make it a lot easier to get the paint to stick to the metal

A few things I wouldn’t recommend is don’t use your freshly painted chalkboard as a backdrop for every other thing you do. Like staining the board near, on or close to the board as it will leave stains, and leaving the caulk glue gun on top of the board while using it. Too many opportunities to mess up the work you’ve already slaved over to create. Also it’s easier to stain the wood first and set it aside while doing the chalkboard. Trust me that it’ll save you a headache later when you accidentally spill something on it.
