⚙️ SHOW NOTES - EPISODE #103: In this episode Tom shows how he made a precise and reliable Miter Sled. It’s so easy to cut perfect 45 degree miters with this sled, and you’ll get great miters right off the saw. But when used in combination with the super shooting board we made in Episode 93, you’ll be slicing “scary good” miters with ease…sure to impress your friends! (Closed captioned)

Thanks for the clear presentation, as usual. With a square crosscut sled of that size, you can make your accurate triangle a little more simply. Cut a square corner, add a stopblock to the sled and cut two sides to a square shape. Then use double sided tape to attach the square to your sled with diagonal corners precisely positioned at one edge of the sled kerf. Now cutting on the diagonal gives you two accurate 45, 45, 90 triangles. This is quick, as it doesn't need tablesaw fence, bandsaw, or jointer, but does restrict the diagonal to something that fits on your sled.

Thanks Alan. That’s a nice idea to just use your crosscut sled to cut the triangle. I think I would only tend to go to the pin nailer to secure it to the sled rather than the double faced tape…but whatever works is good enough. Good thinking, thanks again! 👍😎

I bought my first stationery workshop power tool a DeWalt 10” RAS new in 1987…..since then I have a table saw, jointer, thicknesses, etc, etc…….but still have the RAS setup and dialled in and still use it……it’s a great machine, love it and takes pride in the shop……. Cheers from Aus

Love that Mike, Those 10” Dewalts sure are nice saws! They have gone out of fashion these days but still perform as well as most or more than so many for the sliding chop saws. Thanks for watching all the way from Australia! 👍😎

Oh absolutely, with moves like mine who wouldn’t?! Actually reminds me of a joke we used to say in my neighborhood when seeing someone do something like I did there…we would ask our friend “What did you do with the money?”, and he would naturally answer, “What money?”, and we’d say, “The money your mother gave you for dance lessons.” 😎

😎Yes you got me there. Its more wordy due to it was recorded as a livestream and with 3-400 people on live it gets a little weird if I’m not talking more. We’ll be posting more edited video from here onward. Thanks for watching! 👍

Dude, 13 minutes in the video to get to the slide? 7 Minutes tops. We're all here to get that perfect 90 and 45 degrees. Believe me "IT IS HARD" Time my friend Time.

Dude, these videos are recorded as part of a livestream, it’s not the same as a tightly edited “just the facts” kind of video. Use the playback speed adjustment or slide bar scan quickly and get to the parts you want to see, because if that’s what you’re watching for it’s all about the time my friend. ~ Tom
