The dowel has been around a long time for a reason. They are stronger than many think. Just as strong as the domino suggested. And with better glue technology it will last a long time. Well done.

Great video, excellent narration, handy little tip with that T you built to weigh down the pad when you were assembling the cushion. Also, that's a great little taper jig you made. The only thing you could have done to make it better was to screw a stop block down at the back end of it instead of lining up your pencil mark with the edge of the jig itself. Less room for error that way. But great video!

1,000 grit for a satin finish??? You need to round over the bottom of the chair legs to prevent splintering.
