This is how I make a monkey fist. It's cheap, it's easy, and it's fast! If you've never made a monkey fist before or are looking for an easier way to make them, then try out this method. I apologize for accidentally taking the work off screen. I'm relatively new two camera work and I'm using my phone as well. I hope I am informative enough for you to follow along and make your own. Please enjoy, like, subscribe, and leave a comment. (If you want to of course)

You went off screen after you took the pencils out. You didn't show which way to feed after your second 7

I'm so glad I was able to help you! And a baseball with small cordage like paracord will be very difficult to do. It would be easier with larger rope.

I'm somewhat new to cording. Have done mostly simple macrame projects. I am currently interested in jewelry making, using 2mm cord.I have watched a bunch of tuts on the monkey fist. I found this one an excellent demonstration and explanation of how to make the monkey's fist. I was especially interested in the jig. I would love to see more diy tools like this. I have added two to my little kit: I use a straightened paper clip and a bobby pin for jigs. Which one I use depends on the knot, or what I'm trying to do. I typically use the straightened clip for weaving an end into other threads. A bobby pin is a good jig, but if you're using the standard kind from a dollar store, you have to account for the open ends. You can get ones that are more closed and straight on the ends, but the paper clip is sufficient for my projects now. Right now I am hung up of mastering the double diamond knot. I have it all correct til the end where you dress it. Mine are coming out all crooked looking. Be blessed!!
@TheBradinator214
@TheBradinator214 4 жыл бұрын
Debra Contreras - The issue of the knot coming out crooked is very common especially in larger knots with more cord to manage. The trick is to just take your time when tightening everything down. Try and tighten as evenly as possible and adjust as needed along the way. For best results, don't do all your tightening in one go. Take multiple passes until it looks the way you want and then give it a final tightening. It just rakes some practice. I'm glad you found my video helpful and goodluck with your projects! 😄
