@@errornoname4763 Paracord doesn't break, jerk. Just because you cut the paracord, doesn't mean this guys is terrible. Before you say "well you don't know that" I know just one string (with a knot of paracord of course) can hold up to eight hundred pounds. I know, I tested it.

I made some before using crown knots as the core. It worked really well, I was able to pull them super tight, and they were nice and round. I wanted one to be bigger, so I tied one crown inside another, and that worked out great.

This is great. I've seen these used as pass though anchors for tarp tie downs to great effect. Never really knew how to tie one until now. This is one that once you see it made you can easily remember it. Thanks for sharing!

Hey man just wanted to thank you! I made my fist monkey knot after watching this video, and I have been doing this kinda stuff since it was called macrame! Lol for anyone reading this I used a pipe cleaner with a little hook to mark the start it was easy to pull out and left no trace!! Thanks again brother!!

Got it the first time through! Excellent instructions. I used a small 100lb tow rope. I had to adjust a bit for the larger cord but it turned out great!! Exactly what I wanted. Thanks for sharing the instructions!!!

Two things: 1) Tim, I've perused just about every channel offering paracord bracelet tutorials, and yours are the best, by FAR. Thank you for putting the time, energy, and effort into making these videos. I think I may speak for everyone when I say that. 2) If you don't have a steel ball bearing available, don't want to fork out the dough for 'em, or what-not, but DO feel like running to Walmart and/or the Dollar Store, you can use polymer clay, and a marble if you like, to make the center bead. I took a small marble from a bag I had lying around (bought at the dollar store), and some scrap Sculpey Bake Shop clay ($1/2oz. @ Walmart in the crafting section ;) ), and made my own 'ball bearing'. It might not be as heavy as a steel ball, but it's got a really good weight to it, and works perfectly for the center of a monkey's fist. ... Just my two cents (OBviously, LOL ).

Great tutorial. I used a stopper knot instead of the overhand. It used less cord and was simpler. Also, marking just above the knot with a sharpie made it really easy to find which line to tighten first.

I started with a Celtic button knot and got a really nice, even-looking monkey's fist. The overhand knot is quicker and less fidgety, but if you've got the time and the extra length of paracord I think using a Celtic button gets you a much prettier monkey's fist.
