the format of this video was really well shot. the back and forth explaining and working on the mask was great.

I was initially sceptical when you chose not to use primer, as I love the effect it creates when you do damage. But I ultimately ended up really liking how that dirt stuck to the bare plastic.

The part 4 mask is definitely one of the best looking masks in the franchise. Will you be doing these kind of tutorials for the rest of the masks from the other movies?

The clear coat IMHO also gives the Part 4 that rained on look in the film cause that film was super rainy through out the night scenes with Jason going crazy, plus in the close up shot of Jason walking to Tommy when he was going to reach out to him you can see water dripping down the mask which I thought was cool to see.

I really wanna send in a fiberglass mask if I ever get supplies up to make one cost effectively. That varnish isn't really widely known on the 3/4 mask, had fans debating for years what color the mask was. People swore it was legit mustard yellow even 😂

For your information I unfortunately was unable to make a tutorial on this I didn't really think of making one but I sanded down my mask and added like 4 primer layers let it dry and like 5 layers of meringue then used barn red for blood then added 5 coats of clear coat

I bought a Part 3 style mask of eBay and regrettably, the maker didn't sand the mask evenly, and I think they used lower than 120 sandpaper, because you can see grains in the surface.

2:41 first thing I did was crack a part of the mask... I put some nail glue on it and I'm gonna sand it down and it should hopefully be fine

Thanks for going into more detail for the Part III and IV. These are my favorite mask looks and I continue to work on perfecting my own versions. When you used the lacquer, did you also use a clear blank? As I understand it, the FX guys took a Fibrosport Elite hock and made a clear blank, which they then painted with the off-white paint and patina. I'd like to give that a shot one day myself, but I'd rather see what you come up with first! Thanks as always!
