How to make glass flowers.
Items needed for this project:
* Dishes of choice already pre-assembled
* Toggle bolt
* drill press or cordless drill
* Safety glasses and safety gloves
* Phillips head screw driver
* Rubber washers
* tape measure
* Mounting hook if displaying outside
* Diamond head drill bit
* Marker to center plates
* Display stand

That's a real easy and smart solution for drilling. One of the easiest I've seen with the little water bottle there. And good for you for learning to drill. In my experience, this is the most secure way to mount a dish flower.

I think you've done an amazing job, using a mechanical method of attaching the glass pieces to one another. In my past projects, where I attach glass pieces to one another, I used epoxy, which limited me. With epoxy, you must clean your pieces of glass using something like acetone. If your glass has been painted, the acetone takes the paint off, making it unusable. So, attaching the glass pieces mechanically is brilliant! I have drilled small holes in glass, in the past--nothing so large that a toggle bolt might be used. I'm excited to try this process. Thanks for sharing your secrets! And your pieces are gorgeous!!

As long as the rod is strong enough to carry the weight of the flower. However, I do not see why not. Great idea! Please share your flower when completed. Take care.
