This variant doesn't require cutting the metal frame, which is kinda nice. Since you have that long blade in there, you could cut multiple depths across the wood to create different width of plastic strip like Egorov does with the different depths on his metal version.

Simple design, good. Multiple depth grooves, better. If you put multiple holes in base for screw for hole in blade you could move blade to unused sharp area and get more life out of it.

You could also cut some different depth notches to get varying tape widths!

Then add heat and stretch the nylon ribbon to create a very strong thin string. Platt together for a extremely strong rope. Paragliding cord is 1 mil stretched nylon..

I think a Wood Dowel could replace your Metal Bar..much cheaper, easier to cut and then glue in place! Great idea though.

it's better if you DON'T put a screw through the blade. screws on the sides only means you can slacken the screws and move the blade along to get a refreshed sharp bit. you're so very, very welcome

Очень большой минус что он из дерева так как бутылки содержат некий процент воды которой хватит чтобы бутылкорез разбух и лента не прорезалась нормально

ПАВЕЛ ВИТКАЛОВ , из бутылок предварительно жидкость нужно сливать и не произойдет разбухания. Т.е. это не критично, что из дерева. В конце-концов его можно пропитать от разбухания.

I don't get it, recycle take it whole to Depot or crush or melt if need other purpose, why spend so long on one bottle...worse for environment as smaller size fragment is what birds and animals ingest.

@Swedish Marcus Viking very cool, basically made fishing thick line. Not sure how many house wives be binding kayaks and broken snow shoes..I was thinking more on global scale..but that is cool he found use for it.
