I attempted the potato battery many many times with the input from other sources but it wasn’t until your simple tips in this video that we finally made it happen!! Thank you for making our homeschool science dreams possible!

the internet is a resource, id even say in the modern world THE resource, its the wet dreams of ancient philosophers, the hall of knowledge were anything can be found, it is something that if uses correctly can teach anyone anything with the only real limit being "you got to want to learn it" if you don't wanna know then you likely wont know, under the right conditions the internet makes modern schooling kind of obsolete. with the ability to use the internet a child can preform self passed self education provided they have the drive to "want to know" a drive that children naturally have, with proper supervision a child using the internet as an educational resource can surpass their peers in no time.

One of the best explanations I've seen. The only thing I would change is adding a closer view of the cable connections when all 6 potato pieces are being connected. It gets a little confusing. Thanks for the video!

A galvanized nail has a zinc coat around it. Unlike regular nails, the zinc makes the nail work electronically with the penny, which creates the electrical current so you can get some voltage out of it.

I've never seen anyone attempt to cut a potato with a plastic knife before and he was clearly struggling with it. Talk about doing things the hard way. Could it be that he's not allowed anything sharp?

Thanks. Good project. We got the light to work. But could not get a 3volt fan motor to work. Even though we linked the batteries as suggested. We were getting enough voltage but I suspect not enough current. Not sure. Anyway the led light sufficed. Thanks again.

are the potato or lemon still edible after being used as a battery? or will there a chemical reaction that will make the potato or lemon inedible (aside from food spoilage of course, let's say you used it as a battery for 1 hour)
@josephd.48904 жыл бұрын
If you boil the potatoes for about 2 minutes to get more voltage, and you only need small pieces you still get the same power so cut your potato in the six or eight pieces if large enough

+lazaro benitez. I am sure he used pennies, not dollar bills. Or are potatoes so expencive where you live? Anyway it does work. This is common basic knowledge that is showed in about every science class in any school. Maybe you should visit one for a change. And while you're at it, also try to join an English class. You might be surprised what else you might learn there.
