This is a great video! It gave me lots of great ideas! I’m a fiber laser laser distributor/technician. I might have to sneak a couple of these brackets in as “test cuts” on the next machine I fix!

The prices of metal are looking pretty good over here (my estimate is about the same as the price you listed it'll be exponentially cheaper than premade structures) at the moment so I'm gonna try this out potentially with more bolts and nuts than welds (at least initially because I'm going to move soon.)

At the end of the video he said the total cost was $150… Are you kidding me. That’s amazing and at the same time in raging because big brand stores sell the same thing for $1000 online. This makes me excited and at the same time it pisses me off. Do you have earned my subscription and I will definitely be attempting to myself in the future

he's using 16 gauge which thin compared to gym equipement that uses more expensive 12 gauge or 11 gauge steel tho that's not the only reason.

Would you advice commissioning this to a smith or buying one pre-manufactured? I live in Mexico and there are really few options and IMO a bit expensive for the quality (like in the US those go for $300 and in Mexico the same rack goes for around 13,000 pesos which would roughly translate to $700). On the other hand I know a smith that lives close to my house and has done good works so far, so I’m thinking on asking if he can build the rack but though it was a super crazy idea until I saw this video

Great video. I wanna make one like this, can u please provide me some guidance?
@Jim-yk9zw Жыл бұрын
Steel is cheaper in Australia than appropriate timber posts. It's crazy to think I can weld a rack which will be stronger and last longer for less.

Keep up the good work, I'm already on the power rack. I like the way you explain and the way you work. Do you think you can put the measurements in cm or mm please? For us Europeans it is harder with inches.

any reason u didnt apply washers to the bolts ? looked like the metal was bending in a bit after tightening, maybe manufacturers have to provide them as part of a safety sellers guidlines in accordance to the governments etc but maybe overkill, i dunno
@thebackyardmaker12143 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely correct! The metal did bend a little and i ended up using flat washers in the end! Lol. Other than that, even without the washers, it was still holding on great.

good job and skills ,but dont use Wd40 ... use GT85 as its an actual lube , wd40 will dry out metals and draw water towards it after application, i cringe when people spray their bike chains and other tools with that crap !
@thebackyardmaker12143 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you! Yet, that's all I had at the time being :( And yes, do not use wd-40 on any chains! Thank you for your suggestion aswell!
