How to Make a Pumpkin Square Circle

This is a magical DIY project perfect for your Halloween magic show. In this video, I will show you how to make a very inexpensive square circle magic prop from a foam pumpkin. You won't need much in the way of materials or tools. Get to the craft store while they still have a few foam pumpkins leftover from the holiday so you'll be ready for next season. Here's a material list:
A sheet of black and a sheet of white tagboard
A foam pumpkin
Black paint
A box cutter
A washable marker
A scissor
Black tape and white tape

That’s a GREAT idea. I made on once out of heavy felt. The fabric was strong enough to stand as a tube but soft enough to be folder and removed with the silks and hidden from the audience.

Great idea. Fwiw, when I made my own square circle, I made my load chamber more like a cone. It removes a little load space, but I feel like I always had a moment of awkwardness lining up the outer tube over the load tube that pointed to the method. The pitched sides of the load tube gives me a bigger sweet spot and I can act more naturally that I’m concerned about hitting the inside of the square/pumpkin as I lower the outer tube.

It's because of tutorials like this one that I'm so glad I subscribed to Mike Maione's channel. Explained so that beginners can understand but in a fun way that appeals to all levels. Best seven minutes I've spent today!

What an outstanding idea !! I love it. The very first magic prop I ever built (as a very young boy) was a version of this effect. My father guided me (and helped if I recall correctly), but I was so very proud to perform with it!!
