This is perfect for me. I'm going to do it! It's a much better option than buying a $300 bag from Amazon or doing what my neighbor told me he did (something along the lines of sewing together a bag made of old American flags and reclaimed fabric from the interiors of F-150s and then filling that bag with a mixture of gun powder and whisky... my neighbor has issues).

Sounds like it. And yes it absolutely is - I also really like knowing my bag inside and out so I can repair or adjust any of it on my own, instead of something mass produced online that falls apart. Definitely way cheaper! I'd love to know how yours turns out, let us know here as you go!

We have a big roll of nasty old carpet we pulled when we remodeled our living room. Might clean it some and use it for bag!
