Excellent advice. Thanks for the great vid. Nothing like jamming to some Pink Floyd or Roger Waters while putting together a kit and diorama! Cheers! That Magach and M51 look great!.

One suggestion for you, after you have put on the PVA glue and the kitty litter, press the model you are intending to display into the base a couple of times. This will help replicate the track marks of the vehicle, and will stop it looking like a 30 ton tank can float on top of small stones. This is why most diorama builders will use a sculpting putty (or plaster) instead of this technique.

Nicely done John just as a thought I use a sieve for the cat litter brings it down just a little bit finer. yes John leave the PVA for while it does start to cure off and gets thicker. Great stuff PVA me and you will have to have a chat I got loads of different applications for that stuff, especially for that fantastic tree you make nice little tutorial. Mate, as per normal Sim

Great tip about the hairspray. Just wondering if you find after a few days it dries off and the stones start just falling off?

I use that from tesco to mix through my bonsai tree soil for aeration and drainage non clumping cat litter it's what all my club uses plus check of alot cheaper than horticulture grit n works better lol

Your think me mad but I cant find the beige/sand looking cat litter. I can only find grey or white. Is it a particular brand
@johnmooresscalemodels51763 жыл бұрын
I cant remember the brand but I have used the grey stuff and just painter it after it dried on.

Use non clumping Cat litter it can be left like rubble or you can sift and break it down further
@COLEEN3225 жыл бұрын
I too use the cat litter, but I also incorporate the actual cat's defecation (shit) to add to the effect. It smells to high heaven, but hey, it looks like a real desert scenario!

I know you can get solutions for that on woodprix .
