#SpaceX #FalconHeavy
This week, I sat down and built something random. I had no idea what the final goal was until part way into the build. A miniature Falcon Heavy launch in a glass dome came to mind while looking through my little 3V filament collection.
I know there are a lot of mixed opinions on Elon Musk, but I would love if he saw this video. You should tweet it at him!
Maybe EverydayAstronaut can help me get it to him.

Nerd bit here but It’s not actually smoke. It’s water vapor based on type of fuel and how it combusts. There is no consumable part to create smoke.

The filament & cotton method for this type of effect is one of my favorite crafting techniques to see being used. The reflection at the top of the dome makes it look like the rocket is heading toward some kind of portal, so you did make a space-themed portal after all.

Genau das, was mein Herz jedesmal höher schlagen läßt. Very nice, as ever. The collection of tubes that run down the outside of a rocket is called the raceway, by the way. And those aren't fins, they're the landing legs (non-deployed, of course). Maybe next time a diorama of the two side boosters coming down to land? ;)

Very well done! I was across the Indian River from Kennedy Space Center during the Falcon Heavy launch, and if it weren't for the dense fog that settled in over the water I imagine your model is what the launch would have looked like! We did hear - and feel - it take off, as well as the double sonic booms as two of the three boosters came back in for a landing. We also watched the Orion-Artemis I launch, but from 50 miles further away at home. Night launches are always spectacular.
