You can sew a smaller button onto the cord to keep your toggle from coming off. Or thread a bead onto the cord before threading the other side thru the casing. This is such a cute apron!

Thank you! I love this and was looking for a pattern to make one of these as Christmas gifts for my vegetable gardening friends. I will alter the pattern though to include a cell phone pocket on the back with a Velcro closure so it doesn't flop out when they bend over.

Thank you for the easy and comprehensive instructions, I am a total novice and I made one of these for my dad for fathers day, it turned out perfectly, I did make mine longer because I thought the pocket would be too small for harvesting, I will be making myself one for foraging and I will try and add pockets.

I am slow some times and on this, there is a part at 6:16 into the tape where you mention something about keeping the apron skirt out of the way and I am not getting what you mean and what you are pushing out of the way. Can you please clarify this for me?

I have a page out of an old magazine....something called Home Companion....that shows how to make a "gathering apron" which is very similar to this apron......There is also a pattern/instructions for an egg gathering apron. That has 12 little pockets for gathering and holding eggs.... I love that this is a simple but useful apron

Love this. I'm making it for a friend but what is the seam allowance used? I think I made my initial stitch around the apron too small the button hole was hard to sew. BTW love all your videos' I've learned "sew" much!

Instead of tying a knot so you don't lose your string, how about a large, cute bead? Putting the bead and clip on first before threading it through the apron of course :)
