About Nicholeen Peck
========================
Despite your best efforts at raising children, is your family dysfunctional? Do your children set the rules and have control of your home instead of you? Are you looking for parenting skills that will help you create a united, happy family?
Then meet Nicholeen Peck, one of the world’s most effective parenting experts. Whether you want to fix child behavioral issues, create more unity in the home, or simply strengthen your family relationships, her proven system - Teaching Self-Government - can help you turn chaos into calm.
"People are starving for help to save their families," says Nicholeen.
Since 1999, her seminars, workshops, one-on-one training sessions, parenting videos and books have helped thousands of families worldwide regain peace, be happy and maintain unity in their home. The secret? Learning how to use effective family systems based on parenting that’s deliberate and pro-active (instead of reactive). It all starts with the principles of self-government. If you’re a family of faith, you’ll especially love how your faith and values can be woven into her parenting system.
In 2009, Nicholeen and her husband starred in the BBC reality TV show, “The World’s Strictest Parents” (watch here: bit.do/StrictestParents). She became an overnight sensation by turning around two out-of-control teenagers from England after just one week - without shouting, threats or manipulation. Her amazing success comes from the positive parenting techniques of using calmness, effective communication and principles of self-government.

I’m here to learn how to reparent myself. I’ve always been a bit shy, but it was the most intense when I was a toddler. I’ve been dealing with toxic shame, guilt, fear, a victim mentality, and several narcissistic traits for the past 15 years. Thank you for your insight ❤

I am 28years old and extremely shy here in US unfortunately. I am not American and I have poor English which is the reason of me being too shy and unsocial.. for almost 8years with no friends here and my daughter is growing shy just like me 😢 Very frustrating and I feel stuck

My 4year old son is super shy, like super super shy, even at school he doesn't even have friends, he can read, he can spell, he knows all the flags of the world, knows the entire human skeleton borns and organs and what they do, all he wants to do is just study, he hates being taught so he simply doesn't take instructions at school which makes him seem like he doesn't understand the work he does, i don't know what to do with him, even when you ask him ehat5he studied, he can tell you before bed time literally telling me about the phases of the moon and explaining each one of them in detail. He had/has speech delay so his finding his words and his turning 5,he only speaks English because books are written in English, while we africans so English is like 4th - 6th language to most of us, so his often belittled or bullied by kids even adults about not knowing how to speak his language, i had learnt months later from him when he told me his teacher would literally push him, shouts shut up at him! Because of the language he speaks. My son got more withdrawn, i had taken him to a new school where all kids speak English, his still trying to find his place in the new school with new teachers, the old school had traumatized him, the little friendliness he had in him has been literally been ripped out of him, so i just need to find something to make his less shy

You should watch sensitive. It’s like a fawn stress response. Many people are aggressive or leave fight or flight, but highly sensitive people usually freeze or fawn. It’s not a manipulative choice As you kinda say it is.

Year unfortunately I don’t see that much care or effort this evening he told me one of the assistant asked. Him to write on the board he refused he wanted to draw car so she told him don’t come tomorrow to school I feel very disappointed and. I can’t believe. This. Happening he is smart boy but it take him time to adjust

I'm sorry you're going through that! It sounds like his teacher needs to be pre-taught about his adjustment needs and, if they don't respect them, then other action needs to be taken. I can't give super detailed advice on the information I have here, but I'd love to hear more about it on my weekly Support Group calls! I can go into more detail and give more specific advice there. Here's a link with more information on that: teachingselfgovernment.com/store/support-group/ I hope that helps!
