Great job! Just remember when using platinum silicone that there is a long list of inhibitants including pvc and latex, that can be found in some tapes and adhesives (such as insulation tape). We often discover them by accident when the silicone cures with a sticky surface 🤣🤣

Ohhhhh great to know thanks so much Chris .. I was thinking I should use Sticky Back Plastic next time .. or just mould something heavy that doesn't need to be stuck down. 🤣❤❤

So cool! I’ve had a similar silicone kit for awhile, but been too chicken to try it out. I’ve also been a bit wishy-washy about what I want to make a mold of. 🤦🏽♀️😂 I bought 3 SUPER NICE Devon Dotting molds, and seeing those really made me want to start making my own. I haven’t seen any molds of that quality widely available in the US, and my goal is to eventually get to that level and sell them here. Shipping costs to the US for Devon Dotting molds is SO expensive! I’m guessing it’s because the molds are so heavy. All of my plans for this goal are still at the brainstorming stage, and I have a ton of learning to do before I can put them into production. Meanwhile, I’ll keep studying your videos and loving your “voiceover Claire” wit & humor. ✌🏼💜🛼

Ohhhh Beckie ... honestly making moulds is such an amazing dram go for it !! I will be honest ... USA shipping for anything is crazy I am sending a letter and it is just £1.87 but sending a small parcel is minimum £20.00 for me to send it is so much x I am so happy you enjoy my voice overs lol x they are fun .. I used to hate them but over the years I cannot do it any other way x

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Thank you so much for your encouragement! I finally made a mold of a votive candle holder, and I was squealing like a child when I got it all finished. The outside isn’t perfect, but the inside turned out great. I used Aqua Resin to make my first candle holder since it’s easier to get over here than Jesmonite. I do believe that it’s the most satisfying thing I’ve ever made! I’ve been going around my house collecting little things to make molds of, and I’m going to 3D print a small spiral pot to mold when I get off work today. It’s super exciting to see something finished and be able to say “I made that from beginning to end”! 💜💜💜

That's total nonsense about the shine on the piece. Total misinformation. You really should not be advising on this if you are not knowledegable about how to use resin. The surface of the object has nothing to do with the resin being shinny. The resin will cure either gloss or matte provided you mix it properly. Amateur at best.....
@ClairesCraftyCorner10 ай бұрын
Are you okay ? Why so angry ... I have a hug for you if you need one. Fact is : If the mould is matt ..... the resin will come out matt. Fact ! If the mould is shiny ... the resin will come out shiny. If the mould is matt ... Silicone will come out matt. If the mould is shiny .. Silicone will come out shiny. Simple. Fact.
