Test video: • Testing the SlingBow
In this video, I will show you how to make a slingbow / survival kit. I came up with this design a while back, I kept at it until I thought it was perfect, or maybe good enough for the time being. if you look back in my videos my last one was about five months ago, I had knee surgery, been in the hospital, and super sick, and when I finally finished filming this video I wanted to edit it as soon as possible and get it up as fast as possible.
I plan to teach you how to make arrows in the next video and a testing of the sling bow will be out very soon.
I think I want to add a whisker biscuit to the front of the sling bow. If I do I will update you guys on it in the next video.

This will make it to my survival kit. Better this than a wrist rocket and the temptation to use stones an bust my lip open again. I would sooner make the sling as that cheap leather pocket would give out so very quickly. Having the leftover latex allows me to replace when needed or to make another and gift it. REMEMBER, we ain't yer dad! Thanks for the share John. 😉

Very clever use of some Pipes! Cova-19 lock down boredom has me tinkering with Slingshots! Love the design of bits of pipe & the handle wrap! I have a feeling after making one my boyfriend will first laugh at it, then try it, claim it his just take it. :P

if you buy 3 cheap small tooth brushes and break the brush part off on each one you can epoxy them inside the pvc in a circular pattern aliened in the front it will hold your arrow exactly in the middle steady like a compound bow arrow holder ;-)

I actually have thought of that, and maybe put it in an upcoming video when I remake this slingbow, I’ll give a shout out to you, thanks for the suggestion.

John, after seeing this vid, I saw another potentially dangerous sling bow build I would like to incorporate into yours fixing the problem of the other bow. Make the handle long enough to hold a fishing reel. Use a heat gun and bend the handle forward being careful to achieving flush 90° bend. Set the real on this slightly forward of where you would have it. Mark the rear end of the reels rear mounting arm. Cut a thin v shape on this mark. Heat the cut and then lift the side of the v closest to the handle creating a sleeve to receive the reel's mount. Use a hose clamp on the front. Be sure not to neglect this and your original clamp over time and use.

Probably should cut a groove line around the pvc and then use electrical tape or band wrap the pouch and bands to the pvc to give it a bit more hold

If you are able to make an adapter for the front end that swages out wide enough you could mount a whisker biscuit inside of it at the wider end like I see other guys adding to sling bows with traditional handles… just a thought!

Sling Bows are very popular and excellent for heavy cover and requires little storage space. PVC is so universal for survival situations. You can also make shoulder strapped water canisters and larger waterproof storage canisters for more gear including dry socks, extra para chord ,poncho, small tarp etc.

use double stick tape to wrap the cord on, it will hold it in place.

my boyfriend is laughing at all the negative electrical tape comments, they'd be surprised at how much it stands up against more than likely the service wires and main lines coming from the power line outside was pulled in with a rope and tape lmao

I have seen horrors of electric tape over use on a very used very abused power cord attached to a skill saw, it was so stripped of its original cord wires were visible loose wrapped & rewrapped places the taped was falling off I was rather suprised nobody got electrocuted trying to use It! Glad I left him!

Instead of electric tape you should use rubber band to tie the rubber to pvc pipe.

like how you give detail and not speed the vid clips up but the details put in the vid go off screen fast. it is a good simple video but for anything complex put the detail in description or keep on screen at least 3 seconds longer.

This bow is the best and simple but i hate the concept that we used electric tape to finish it,its like something never finished,i cant accept that don't know why,can you think something better to fix it ,to make it look so real and profesional and real permanent slingbow?

Thank you for the info but maybe have the matches separate from the striker last thing you would want to have your kit burn up on your person . Especially if your hunting big game I’m sure a carnivore wouldn’t mind a barbecued human happy meal . Then again circle of life .

Well you could have painted it before assembly but that's a small matter as you do know you can buy black pipe right? It comes in many colours - I worked at a company that shipped pvc around the world. For those in the UK - it's illegal to own this here. So make sure you don't own one right?!!

Slingbows aren't illegal in UK, Maybe what you mean is HUNTING with arrows is illegal. So no bow or crossbow or slingbow hunting in the UK but targets are OK.
